Met All My Criteria, Seems Like A Good Value.
Thisis my first Dorcy flashlight. I know they make some super inexpensive units all the way up to some higher end ~$100 models. I ordered this flashlight because I wanted an inexpensive flashlight for the garage. $17 is "inexpensive" for a flashlight that you may use once in awhile? Well, I have pretty particular criteria. 1) Uses AA batteries: readily available, including lithium cells so I can throw this in my tool box and not worry about batteries leaking or going bad for several years. 2) Bright: 180 lumens is probably a little overkill for wrenching around in the garage but there seems to be a lumens gap you either get 20 to 40 lumens or near 200 lumens for flashlights in the price range. 3) Large enough that I can set it on an engine and it won't fall through. 4) Square body won't roll away if it drops. The wide, square tail cap is also allows me to stand it up on end 5) Simple operation: quick push button, one mode, on/off. I don't need 3 brightness levels and a strobe feature. Nor do I want to mess with twist on/off 6) LED bulb: who wants to worry about a bulb going out in your flashlight when you need it?Conclusion: Yeah, it's no Maglite. It's no Streamlight, nor Bayco. But it's a fraction of the price of their lights, and this light isn't going to get much "hard use". Honestly I am happy with the fit and finish of this flashlight. $17 may seem a bit on the high side for what "feels" like an inexpensive unit, but it was the only light that met all my criteria. So at this price point there's a lot of value for me in this unit. I may order another one for the glovebox of my Jeep.

Excellent flashlight.
This is a really good flashlight. The center light is narrow but extremely bright and penetrating. The surroundings area are also well illuminated but with less intensity. It feels good in the hands. Lightweight Good material. The best is without doubts its light. Bright and strong enough to illuminate really far far away. Excellent product for the price.

Another great torch from Dorcy
I have been buying Dorcy flashlights for over a decade. I have their LED lanterns, LED Spotlights, Cree LED Tactical Aluminum lights, Pin lights, etc.. This True Spot light is very bright and cast a long distance. It is durable in terms of dropping it from a reasonable distance. And it can wet with not problems, just don't submerge it in water. I'm still on the same batteries that came with the flashlight. I've used it quite a bit and it's still pretty bright. My wife thinks amassing a variety of flashlights when one or two will do. No, you never have enough IMO. Ha.... Also, NEBO makes a good budget tactical light as well.

THE LIGHT IS BRIGHTER AND THE PRICE IS LIGHTER.
I ordered three Dorcy 41-4750 (190 lumens) in 2010 for an elderly parent who has difficulty pressing the on/off buttons on most flashlights, especially the ones with the buttons on the end. She was/is very pleased with these featherweight flashlights and has no problem turning them on and off.The square design prevents it from rolling off of a bedside table, a counter or shelf, especially if you're reaching for it in the dark or have to lay it aside while working. In 2010, from Amazon Prime, these flashlights cost $20.15.My biggest surprise came when exuding batteries ruined one of her flashlights in 2015 while still providing enough power to produce light. Thus, I ordered the newer model 41-4751 from Amazon for $12.99 as a replacement. It claims 180 lumens but is brighter than her 3 remaining 41-4750 models all with new batteries installed. When products improve over the years ... and drop in price ... it makes for happy repeat consumers. I'm one. Mama is another.

They're bright! They work!
This is my second purchase of this model of flashlight from Dorcy. I've had my first one for a couple of years, and it works really well and has a good, bright light. I bought a second one because when I was cleaning out my closet of assorted stuff, I realized none of our flashlights were working anymore except for my first Dorcy. I'm going to stick with these as long as they keep up the quality.

Piece of JUNK.
This flashlight lasted me about 3 months. Total use about 1 hour in the 3 months, and it started to dim. So, replaced the batteries and no difference, and then it stopped working at all. Going to try to return to amazon, but it may be too late. It appears that my deadline to return has expired, So, this flaslight can be only be used as paper weight. Maybe, somethings made in the USA just don't live up to our expectations.Sent back the flashlight to the company at my expense, and just received the replacement. The new light is much dimmer then the first one I received. Any flashlight you can buy in any store for about $5.95 is better then this one.Its an American Company, but the Flashlight is " Made in China". I thought it was made in America. Still a piece of junk.Note: I changed the batteries that came with the replacement flashlight with duracell batteries, and its much brighter. I would change my rating, but have to see how long this one lasts with no problems. To me the most important thing about a flashlight is that it works when you most need it. I would not depend on this brand as of now.Update, indicates that you can drop this flashlight 8 feet with no damage. Will the new one I received dropped off of the coffee table about 12 inches, and now it doesn't work. Not going to spent all the money to return to the Company again. Would never, never buy this brand again, and recommend that you search another brand if you need reliable flashlight that you can depend on.

Bright and efficient LED flashlight
This LED flashlight is super bright and shines a good distance. My kids loved it when they went camping -- it was the brightest of the group and the batteries lasted the entire week (the manufacturer says they should last about 5 hours straight). It runs on 4 AA batteries. Although it is pretty large, it is actually fairly light weight.Great for most flashlighting needs!
