Overworked and broken presale text book.
This book was used but it was in really poor condition. The binding was completely broken and falling apart. I have never purchased a pre owned book before but I will be very cautious if I do it ever again.

So many errors...
I would not be surprised if, in the final chapter of this textbook, I find every single page has at least one mistake. As I've progressed through the chapters, I've noticed more and more that there are typos and mistakes that the editor of this book did not catch. For example, in Chapter 9: Development, on pages 308-309, there are three mistakes I've found. Two have to do with the map of Brazil. A description in the text states that wealth is highest in Brazil along the Atlantic coast instead of in the interior, but instead shows that wealth is concentrated in the southern half of Brazil, with most of that wealth being concentrated on the Atlantic coast and in Brasilia. Second, there are three maps shown on this page: Brazil, China, and Mexico (in that order from top to bottom). However, the description states that Brazil is in the center and China is above it. The third mistake has to do with the description of a bubble graph; though it only employs two colors to describe developed countries (red) and developing countries (blue), the description states that it divides developing countries up into yellow, green, and blue bubbles depending on their stage of development. I can only hope that the money spent paying for new books of this edition go towards hiring an editor that is competent in their job. With that being said, the information is easily accessible; if not for the mistakes I keep finding, I probably would have given this textbook five stars.

Surprised in a good way
This was actually a decent textbook, I was pleasantly surprised. Visually this looks like the high school textbooks that I remember from a long time ago, and yet the writing was clear, the content was in-depth, and the book covered many topics that affect people around the globe (rather than just focusing on Europe or the US). I especially appreciated the support structures such as vocab guides, review questions, and charts, diagrams, and other images.

Good book but a little bit to much run on material.
I like the book as far is for my geography class. I think my professor has already caught on to what I have. I think the book is great but it tends to add a lot of info that leans more toward philosophy and social studies more so. I think after the first 2 key points in each chapter it tends to leave the concept of geography and just adds a bunch of non geography matter. Even my professor only takes the quizzes from about the first 5 pages of each chapter. But over all its a great book and will fit the propose to learn geography.

Good Textbook
Save money and buy this. Even if you need an edition or two higher than this it's going to be the same information.

Great place to order textbooks for your children!
It arrived on time and in good condition! I really isn't fair that we pay such high fees for kids to go to school and we still have to pay for this big of a textbook knowing it will get opened very seldom if at all!

College book, just what he needed
Ordered this book for my son for his Summer class at college. It is just as listed on the description. We actually rented this book, and it was in great shape.
