They work great for other field measuring tasks also
I wanted to replace 2 I already had. I am a botanist and sometimes need to collect data from a square meter. I have a square meter set up, but it is difficult to carry on long distances, where these will fold and fit my backpack. They work great for other field measuring tasks also. My other two (same brand) I had for over 15 years. They still work great, haven't fallen apart, it's just the paint is wearing off in some places (I had to clean them often). It is difficult to find anything that will measure in meters. Great product, reasonably priced.

Best deci.
This is the best tool I've purchased in a long time. I use it constantly. It's quicker and steadier than a tape measure, and feels sturdy. Only time will tell how it fares, but I'll definitely bug another one when this one breaks regardless.

I use this in my job to measure height and is easier to use than a tape measure.

Get Something Better
I was disappointed with this folding ruler. It's Swedish in name only, made in China and much more poorly than anold one from Sweden. The hinges are sloppy and too weak to hold the ruler straight as an arrow. Spend more and get a Starrett, Lufkin, or Hultafors and get something quality made. The Lufkin and Starrett also have the sliding 6 inch brassinside measurement extension (very handy and precise for ID measurements). Buy something better than this ruler is my suggestion!

Good Folding Ruler
This is a replacement for the one that broke after 30 years of use. It isn't as wide or as substantial as the last on but it is better than I expected for the great price.

It’s a little bitty tiny flimsy ruler.It is what it is.Not for daily use as a lineman :-)

Great for archeology students
I bought this for my daughter for an archeological dig. It was perfect. Even after 5 weeks in the dirt and mud, it works great!
