Works like a charm
I got this for my Toshibia Thrive to go online in a few places I go to often that don't have WiFi. It works beautifully- and the connection speed tested out to be almost as fast as my PC's Ethernet connection to the same home network. Also I used it with an old Toshiba Satellite, it seems to be working fine with no driver install in Windows XP. In fact, I haven't needed the driver disk at all. When I first started to use this adapter, my Thrive had the stock ROM, but now it's rooted. Rooting didn't affect how well this works in any noticeable way. The first time I plugged it in, I had to mess with the network settings for a minute or two to get online. I haven't had to since, and since there is no notification on the Thrive to tell you that it's working and connected, I'm not sure what did got it to work. It could be the fact that I had the tablet in airplane mode when I plugged it in, to verify that it worked without WiFi enabled. Enabling and re-enabling WiFi may have done the trick. My only complaint is that it works so well. I'm used to more difficulties with something like this, I have a pretty complicated network setup. When the adapter is working, there is nothing in the Thrive settings that will even acknowledge that you have a network connection, the notification even told me that I had no internet connection- while I was listening to Pandora and posting to Facebook. This lack of errors and driver installs, while refreshing, could be confusing to tech savvy people who are used to having to fight a new technology tooth and nail to get results. Otherwise, great product and worth the money

Works great on 1st Gen Asus Nexus 7, but be aware that the adapter gets hot while in use.
Please Note: Amazon has (by far) the best shipping times on the planet. This item arrived overnight instead of Prime 2 Day. Thanks Amazon. As a technology consultant, I've been carrying around a bulky laptop and a small table to prove trouble on network switches. With the advent of the Android tablet and the possibility of connecting to the internet with an Ethernet cable, via a USB to RJ45 adapter, and an OTG cable, proving trouble just got a lot easier. The BobJGear USB to RJ45 adapter was just what I was looking for. It works right out of the package, NO DRIVERS NEEDED. My biggest concern about this product is that it gets very warm while it's in use. We all know that heat reduces the life span of any component, and the question is......How long will this device last, since it does get hot. The package contains the USB to RJ45 female adapter, and a Mini CD with no writing on it (presumably a driver disk, however Windows 7 will not read the information on the disk). The labeling on the package talks about the devices it supports, including "made in China" but NO Warranty information. Amazons item description states a 1 year exchange warranty. Hopefully, this is the case if failure occurs.UPDATE: On 4/18/2014, I received an email from BobjGear notifying me that the operating temperature of this device is 32 - 158 degrees. This is good to know, an in my humble opinion, the info should be provided on the package. Thanks to BobjGear for providing this information.

Works OK, some issues
This device works OK but if you plug the Ethernet cable into the socket all of the way so that it "clicks" in and locks into the socket the device doesn't work. So, you have to leave it a bit loose which means that the cable can/will fall out stop working. When it is working it is really nice to have a consistent wired connection and makes HD video streaming gorgeous on my ASUS Infinity tablet.

Worked For My Tablet!
New Update Edit: The original review below is for the original old model (purchased February 2014) and the device finally died. It lasted for two years and five months. I have now purchased (August 2016) this newer updated model, so I will see how long it lasts. I'm still giving it five stars because it connects even faster than the older model. I still highly recommend this product. This device is working wonderfully on my Xelio 7" tablet model P717A-BK that I attached to my micro to usb adapter. I had purchased other ethernet adapters for this tablet but they did not work at all or the connections would die out constantly. I wished I would have purchased this device first; it would have saved me a lot of time and money. The speed of my internet connection seems to actually be faster than using my WI-FI connection. I realize this device is a little on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for and I am very pleased with my purchase. I was on the fence wondering would this device work on a generic, cheap, off-brand tablet like Xelio, but it worked! I'm surprised and glad!

Works great
Works great, gets warm, but no problem so far. I needed this for the new Acer Chromebooks, they only have two ports, (1 2.0 and 0ne 3), and no Ethernet connection or hdmi for my monitor, so I had to buy gadgets; hdmi/ rgb adapter that works great, a 4 port adapter and this for Ethernet. This works with the 2.0 ports only. Unfortunately, I found the whole package in one later, (sd ports and ethernet in one). Connectors are not gold, so what. I just hope the heat is not a problem in such a small unit, it has no where to go. Time will tell.

Perfect
Works perfectly for my WD device, since the JR45 port died a while ago

Works with Lenovo Tab M7
I recently bought a Lenovo Tab M7 TB-7305F. I saw there was an option to use ethernet connection instead of WIFI and as my WIFI is playing up and pitifully slow I asked Lenovo tech support for help regarding an adaptor for their product. They were unhelpful to put it politely. So I took a chance on this product and it worked straight out of the packaging. Gets a little warm if on for too long but at least now I can download apps in minutes rather than several hours, if at all.It may not work for all Android tablets but at least for mine it was fine. Pretty good price too.

Stromversorgung nachbestellt.
