Fluance Fi50 Two-Way High Performance Wireless Bluetooth Premium Wood Speaker System with aptX Enhanced Audio (Black Ash)

I bought this Bluetooth speaker based on a Review posted by Audioholics. Their reviews and recommendations are normally spot on. So I jumped on this product based on that.I have been using this Speaker in my Bathroom. Lots of tile and reflective surfaces. It sits in a corner in a cross-section positon. Imagine the letter A. /-\. This speaker is simply put. Amazing. I am an Audiophile. I spend enormous amounts of money on Audio gear. Always striving to attain Nirvana in sound reproduction. The sound quality, clarity and depth of reproduced bass on this little speaker is beyond my best expectations.The Speaker is SOLID. With nicely rounded edges (reduced internal boundary gain). It is made out of Wood not cheap plastic (that has poor acoustic qualities) It may be MDF or some other type of manufactured wood but it is dense and heavy. All good things when talking about sound reproduction. Its Heavy and feels of Quality. It has Dual rear facing bass air ports. These allow for deeper octaves, deeper tuning frequency and greater system efficiency. What des that mean? Greater performance without distortion.I have arguably more than 40K into my main sound system. And yet I want to stay in the bathroom and listen to this little Bluetooth Speaker?This product from Fluance is most definitely a Homerun ! The sound is pure magic, clear, bright and yet deep and soothing.

I own both the fi30 and fi50.You truly must not judge the sound until after the break in period 10-20 hours of play at medium vol. After that the sound is much much better, and for the price, you can't beat the sound in this package for both the fi30 and fi50, although fi30 is discontinued now.The ONE BIG FLAW, as everyone else has pointed out, is the disconnect/reconnect sound. I use mostly AUX connection, sometimes bluetooth, and both disconnect after a brief moment of time if there is no sound signal to the system. Once that signal comes back.. "boom" it reconnects with an extremely annoying sound. Not a big deal at low volumes, but at high volumes is very very harsh on the ears. It is the only flaw, and is a big one. But for the price, its worth dealing with. And as long as the sound input signal is continuously going, you don't have to worry about this flaw, so proper management of the music should prevent this from happening.

This is a lovely set of speakers. Tremendously convenient, straightforward, and with very good sound quality. It does not sound quite as clear as my Advents, or my old Fluance bookshelf speakers. The sound is rich, but a little muddy - like Bose speakers in general, but for the size & price it's hard to beat.My only gripe is that when I received the speaker, it would not turn on. Since I had already travelled 13,000 mi from where I bought them in Connecticut, I was highly motivated to try & make them work. Unable to find a 15v adapter handy, I tried my luck with a 12v, and lo and behold, the speaker turned on & worked great! Delighted, I ran off to the store & picked up a new 4A 15v adapter, brought it home, plugged it in, and the unit once more did not work. Tried with my 12v universal adapter again, and it worked just fine! So this unit is voltage-sensitive, and the adapter may or may not work for you in 220v countries, and if you want to replace it, consider testing voltages first, because nominal 15v adapters may or may not work.That gripe aside, the unit is beautifully constructed, and the sound-quality is outstanding for the size & type of unit. Would definitely buy again.

Awesome sound and awesome solid construction. This is not some cheap plastic toy like other products out there. Bluetooth performance has had no issues (all paired devices being used in-range), and of course no issue using the auxiliary input. The unit even came with two different feet options, the best being the metal spike feet. I bought this unit after listening to several different Bose units and not fully being impressed with the sound (couple being more expensive than this unit), just could not justify the purchase for those units. I bought this unit after reading reviews online, decided to risk it. As soon as I fired this up, I knew it was a keeper! Sound is "full" and sounds "natural", volume capabilities are more than adequate (I have not yet had to go past 30 on the volume, which was plenty loud). Fluance is a great company with great products, definitely give them a try!

I love music and have purchased 5 jbl bluetooth speakers for me and my family over the last few years. Jbl has great sound. Now my home theater system is a Denon amp with fluance speakers for center and left and right channels. The sound is awesome so i took a chance on their bluetooth speaker. Well worth it. The cost is much cheaper with a superior quality of build than the jbl. Do give it a good break in period. The drivers tend to be stiff and need time to reach their full potential. Your patience will be rewarded.

Good sound quality, but there's a bad design problem: the loud "CONNECTED!" and "DISCONNECTED!" sounds. This means I can't fall asleep with my laptop paired to the speakers or it will shout DISCONNECTED! at me when my laptop powers down.Also, buttons should be buttons, not magic spots on a featureless wood surface.

Of the 4 bluetooth speakers I have purchased over the years, this one has stood the test of time. The others lasted no more than one year before being tossed into the trash bin.In addition to its longevity, its sound quality remains very high. I especially appreciate the ability to adjust both treble and bass settings.One of the best audio products I've ever purchased!

I always pull out instructions for everything. Even cordless drills. Had a song I really wanted to hear right now so unpacked, plugged in, powered up, paired and voila! 10 seconds after plugging in I have tunes. Sounds great and love the little touch controls on top. Read somewhere in my Bluetooth research about breaking in speakers? BS. Have always just hooked stuff up and cranked it. This time, for some unknown reason, I dragged out the documentation and there it was. 10 hours. Who knew?

Very clear sound, hearing the instruments as if they were in the room. They must have gotten rid of the voice that stated connected or disconnected, it just comes on/off with no prompts. For the price it’s an incredible deal. Happily listening to my spa and meditation music. Bluetooth works great at max bit rate.

The product is beautiful and I had high hopes. Unfortunately one speaker has crackled since it arrived. Tried to contact seller and they had me change plugs to no avail. Sometimes I can wedge a small piece of paper in the speaker to stop the buzzing, most of the time I have to get up and press on the speaker to get it to stop. Sounds great when it’s not buzzing.

I looked around for a long time for the right speaker to fit my basement apartment and based off of CNET reviews of this I picked it up. It has a really solid dynamic range with punchy base and clear highs. It gets loud enough to power a mid sized party and doesn't distort very much at maximum volume (which is so loud you wouldn't want to have it that loud in most houses) It fills my house nicely and all you really sacrifice is stereo separation in comparison to bookshelf speakers. Features outweigh for me the cost of buying a full audiophile setup for me(Bluetooth/luggable portability/high&bass control) These speakers produce good enough sound to satisfy this audiophile, on a relative budget and with such easy setup and usability. Definitely recommend. Review was sparked by offer for free warranty though was going to review anyway.

Negative remarks,power on and off bottom must be on top,Piano black is more sexy to look but no big deal.What I like is very simple,simple but agressive,simplicity,hidden power come out when kriss kross sing..fluance is better than stanmore 2..

Great sound and quality for the cost! I like the extended cord as it gives it a bit more flexibility about where I can put it. It would be nice to have the option of the shorter cord or the longer cord though for those times when the plug is very near to where I want the speaker system and don't want a pile of cord behind it.
