Great for textured or curly hair
The scent of this is a choice I don't quite understand. It isn't obnoxious or off putting, but it's... odd. Someone said it smells like toilet bowl cleaner, and it kind of does. However, when your hair dries, it smells very nice. This leaves my hair incredibly shiny and soft. Like with any cleansing conditioner, there is a sweet spot between not rinsing enough and it leaving your hair greasy, and rinsing too much and it coming out dry. Really great for textured and/or curly hair.I will definitely repurchase this regardless of the weird scent, but you might want to reconsider that, Palmer's people. I see y'all have parfum in there. How about something fresh and green and clean instead?

Surprisingly successful
Was totally skeptical. I am Caucasian with very long thick hair that generally needs to be washed every day. I use this product about once or twice a week to give my hair a break from the shampoo/conditioner combo. It works great. Definitely follow the directions and JUST massage onto scalp. If you have longer hair and start swirling it around like you do with shampoo/conditioner, it will be impossible to comb out. My hair feels silkier when I use this than when I use a shampoo/conditioner combo. If this product (and similar brands of this product) weren't so pricey (hence four stars instead of five), I'd use it more than just once or twice a week.

Extremely cleaned, Gently!
This product has done the best at actually CLEANING my scalp whilst not drying out my hair. I have used other co-washes that left my scalp itchy and not clean-feeling... Also does not leave a lot of build up. As for the scent, I can say I've not noticed any, will have to pay attention to that next time...I have curly, frizzy, biracial hair that is medium thickness and very oily scalp with DRY ENDS of hair. The oils stay trapped at my scalp due to the curliness of my hair.I normally have had to cleanse my scalp at least every 2nd day, or deal with peeling, itching, and dandruff... but with this product scalp still feels clean at 3rd day! Haven't tried to go beyond that far without rinsing, it could last longer, I don't know..I feel it is a great, un-sung product. Not going to blow your mind, but does the job needed extremely well!

I really like this. It makes my dry hair soft and not as frizzy
I really like this. It makes my dry, curly, frizzy hair nice and soft, I still have to use a product on it tho to keep it under control. I didn’t really like the smell at first, but it’s grown on me, and I really like it now. Best thing I’ve found for the price

Great for fine hair! Nice alternative to traditional shampoos
I have healthy but very fine hair. I color it regularly. I like this co-wash a lot! It's my everyday shampoo now!! I didn't think it was too heavy, you just have to rinse well.It feels like a lotion/conditioner and doesn't lather at all. I use 5-8 pumps on my roots and use water to emulsify. It takes away the oil and doesn't leave my hair feeling coated or oily at all.Safe for my color treated hair and very mild! I don't really notice the smell at all-- also mild.I still use a conditioner when I'm done rinsing this because my hair tends to need extra help with moisture and repair. But this does a nice job cleaning without stripping away! I'm hooked. It's a great product. Thanks!!

Great for many kinds of hair!
This stuff is fantastic! I have very fine hair that gets greasy easily. I have to wash it every day or it looks like someone poured oil on my head. Shampoo dries my ends out so I end up with greasy scalp and dry split ends. This cleans effectively, my hair is soft and shiny and bouncy. For those with hair like mine I’ll tell you the trick is to really agitate it into your scalp with your fingers or a brush. It also works great for my girlfriend who has very curly thick hair that tends to get dry. She doesn’t have to agitate it like i do. This is the only product I’ve ever used that works great on both of our very different hair types.

Natural 4c High Porosity - Clean, but Can't Detangle
My hair feels clean, and not stripped when I use this product, but my hair feels tense and is impossible to detangle when I use this co-wash. My coils seem more defined when they air dry, but none of my conditioners can get my hair soft and relaxed following this product.

Not only did it immediately get rid of his flakes and itchiness but I noticed after applying it that my hands were super smooth. I'm talking baby's butt smooth
My son is biracial and I bought this to treat his dry scalp. Not only did it immediately get rid of his flakes and itchiness but I noticed after applying it that my hands were super smooth. I'm talking baby's butt smooth. I have very dry skin but also sweat easily,so most lotions that help at all feel greasy and make me sweat even more. Not this stuff. It absorbs quickly and all that's left is crazy soft skin. I use it on my face as well which has been so dry and flakey this mth that I've often been embarrassed to go in public. This is truly an amazing product.

Worth trying - convert from Wen products - wouldn't be without it!
For context, I have colour treated, dark, just past shoulder length hair which is naturally cork-screw curly. I'll admit to being a little sceptical about this product given its reasonable price. However, having clocked a few rave reviews online, I thought I'd give it a whirl. I had been using the Wen products by Chaz Dean but while I was happy with them, they were really quite pricey. I exercise 5 days a week so my curly hair needs washing 5 times a week but I don't want or need to use 'proper shampoo' on it that often. I use this as directed, so about 12-14 squirts on v wet hair and pin up in the shower while I get on. Then rinse thoroughly and about 1-2 squirts combed through and left in post shower. I get soft, separated, curls that smell nice and it doesn't cost the earth. I'm not sure its quite as moisturising as the Wen stuff which I really did like but this is about a third of the price so its a keeper. definitely worth a try and I would recommend.

Overall happy with results & product
I've got shoulder fine, shoulder length hair that tends to get greasy at the roots quickly and dry on the ends. Usually wash daily or every other day and use a LOT of conditioner on the ends to get that silky feeling and to rid my hair of looking dry and static-y. Decided to try co-washing as I'm trying to cut as many chemicals out of my beauty regime as possible. Been using it for about 4 days now and my hair looks perfectly healthy, not dry or static-y at all. It seems to be blow drying straighter as well, so I've not needed to use straighteners. The product has a really refreshing subtle minty scent which is lovely! Only problem is that my roots are pretty greasy the next morning so I've had to continue washing daily, which I was hoping to get down on. I have read that it takes a while for your scalp to adjust though so I'm hoping if I keep going with it I'll be able to increase time between washing!

Best hair Wash ever made!!!!
I cnt wear my hair down its so frizzy thick n dry, ive tryed hair oils and expensive argan shampoos nothing has worked i decided to cut out shampoo thts whats so damaging, ive to wash my hair every day cz i wrk on a smelly farm lol ive even tryed baby shampoo and mixed argan oil in it my hair still looked terrible and frizzed out, Ive been using this hair cleanser for 2months now and my hair has transformed i didnt think was possible, it looks so healthy and feels so different andsoft and smells great, i can hv my longhair down now it looks like advert hairit just proves how bad shampoo is for your hair, i dont even need hair oil anymore, this is the only think i use in my hair now, After a week tho, i started getting abit of product build up but there was no way i wanted to go bck to shampooing so i rubbed the cleanser in my hair in the shower washed it out but then repeated it but this time proply combed it with a shower comb so it got every strand and then thoroughly proply wash it all out and it got rid of the product build up, i dnt know if it will work with everyones hair but tht worked for me i just do it like that once a week but the rest of the days i just wash it once rubbing it in with my fingers and rinsing it out, wen rinsing it out your hair it feels abit oily but once you dry your hair that feeling goes and youve silky soft hydrated frizz free hair ill never use another hair product now, ill be using this for the rest of my life i hope they never stop mking it :) oh also, i used to lose a scary amoun of hair, ive dyed it alot in the past, my hairs not falling out in clumps in the shower anymore, the oils in this seem to really agree with my scalp ive sensitive skin maybe thats why shampoo irritated my scalp bcos of the bad chemicals in them. Id recommend this product to everyone its a great size and i love the pump on it so water doesnt get into the bottle and a great price a bort a few bottles to stock up on it lol

Not Great on Naturally Very Curly Western European 3b/3c Hair - Disappointed After Reading Great Reviews
I'm forever trying to find new products for my non-porous 3b/3c curls, and this product was nothing special in my opinion. I wasn't overly keen on the herbally smell but would have been ok if I'd liked the product enough. It was weird for me to use a product that didn't lather like normal shampoos etc. it makes to hard to massage and distribute evenly through my thick curls. The product was also quite stingy and tingly on my scalp which felt wrong. Not sure if it was a negative reaction to the product or not or whether it was the chemicals in the product. There was not much slippage with this product on my tight curls and it wasn't easy for me to comb through the with an Afro comb while wet as recommended on the bottle. I left the product on to react/condition whilst I showered but my hair felt heavy, dry and a bit matted once washed out. When it was all rinsed my hair didn't feel silky soft with lots of slippage like it does when I use Herbal Essence Rainforest conditioner. I also tried using this as a leave in conditioner but still not great in my hair. Looks like my mum will be getting another rubbish hair product that my hair doesn't like. She'll be happy as it may be great on her straight fine hair. No good for naturally very curly Western European hair 😢

2nd time lucky
I first tried this a couple of years ago when I was still a brunette and I didn’t really get on woth it, mostly because you don’t get that plasticky, high shine that comes with sulphate based washing. I persevered through the first bottle but then ended up shoving the remaining 2 in a drawer and forgot about them (yes, I learnt my lesson about buying multiple bottles of products I’ve never tried before). However, fast forward two years and my hair is now bleached and very, very thirsty and very prone to breakage. I ended up shelling out £40 on a co-wash called Hairstory. It was undeniably effective at moisturising my parched barnet and stopping breakage but I couldn’t justify that continued price tag for just 250mls of product. So with a successful bout of co-washing behind me I decided to dig out my stashed bottles of Palmer’s and give it another try. Well, I’m now kicking myself for falling for the expensive product hype. This stuff does the job just as well (if not better). My tips for a great result are:1. Invest in an effective shampoo massager to really work the product in and give your scalp a good old scrub. I really love this one. Cheap and effective https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07FJM262Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=12. Comb the product through with a shower brush or comb. I recommend this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Denman-D6-Shampoo-Shower-Brush/dp/B000J1AD52/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1547208430&sr=8-1&keywords=denman+shampoo+brush3. Make this the first part of your shower then leave it to soak in while you complete the rest of your shower routine4. When you come to rinse out, use the shampoo massager again to really help rinse out all of the excess so you don’t end up lank and greasy5. Let your hair air dry as much as possible before heat styling6. Once or twice a week, consider an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse to manage build up and keep your hair at the right PH level to maximise shine. There is lots of information online about ACV rinses if you’ve never done one before7. BONUS TIP FOR BLONDES: adding a few drops of this will neutralise brassy tones https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01EVGY5LI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
