SIMCAM AI 1080 HD Home Security Camera 1S (Grey)

The media could not be loaded.  This a fancy looking AI home security camera to watch my home at 24/7! It has all the great features which I want such as face recognition, person detection, 2 ways chatting mic/speaker, night vision and work well with my kids Alexa etc......Even my kids can use this camera easily. I feel lot safer with this device at home so I can see my kids at all time and recognize their faces. Also another feature I like it’s great privacy security. It can storage on up to 128GB micro SD card. And does NOT use cloud storage My privacy and secrets are safe with this advanced AI camera system! Love this!

The app used for this camera is straight garbage. Don't even bother, look elsewhere for home security. Camera is good but doesn't matter because the app will sign you out, not notify you, or just plain not work when you need it most. It will even notify you there's someone in the house when there is no one, its comical. If you plan on using this for security and you cherish your life or loved ones then buy a better system.

It’s not 100% accurate, meaning that it doesn’t recognize me (despite setting up AI recognition) and it doesn’t always detect/ notify motion, which I honestly don’t understand why.

Update:Had marked this for return but put off sending it back for awhile mainly due to being lazy about getting it returned. As the return date was nearing I decided to give it another chance as it had been almost 2 months. Recreated my account and updated the firmware, which I'd heard helped fix a lot of the issues I was having. Seems to have worked, the camera has been running trouble free now for a couple of weeks. The software has some rough edges but seems to be improving and the cam appears to be working very well. Changed my rating from 1 to 3 stars, if it keeps improving I will up it even more. Glad I waited to return it. Have cancelled the return and keeping the cam.Original review:Guess I should have listened to the reviews. Sounded like a great item and it worked well for the first few hours, nice picture and person recognition but after that kept loosing network connection and couldn’t reconnect. After several days trying to get a steady connection, I’ve given up on it. Every other cam and wifi device I have works fine, just not this one. Returning it.

Before I placed the order, I had some questions and then I sent a message to their customer service. They actually replied to my message within five minutes. This is an experience I’ve never had on Amazon before, which made me feel good about the product at very beginning. The customer service answered my questions and also told me that I could go to YouTube to check the videos for more detailed installation and product introductions, which turned out to be quite helpful for me to understand some functions. Compared with my previous Yi camera, Simcam performs way better. First of all, it can detect faces and push the alert to the phone as fast as unlocking IPHONE by face. When it detects the person, it could do 360° turn to follow the person, and there is no delay. The picture is relatively clear even when I zoom in the picture. However, I need to manually adjust the tilt angle. The alert is really accurate. No cloud storage and no subscription fee is reasonable since it has recorded our face and the local storage is much more safer. The app is also very user friendly and it’s easy to connect the camera through scanning the QR code.Overall I’m very satisfied with the product. This pro I gotta give the company the thumbs up since this is definitely the best home security camera I have ever tried!

I've been working with this Camera for a little over an hour. I've only gotten it to send me an alert a single time. I can clearly see myself in frame but the camera is not pushing alerts to my phone. In the app it's not showing a person detected when I walk entirely in the field of view. I have not setup facial recognition yet. I wanted to see if the alerting on my phone would work.Also the app is very slow and its not particularly intuitive when the camera is set to detecting mode or not. You have to tap the button 'detecting' or 'private' and read the text to see if you are toggling the setting on or off. The text also doesn't make much sense. Tapping 'private' will display the text "Camera is in sleep mode, would you like to open private mode?" I don't know what sleep mode is there is no explanation for it, am I enabling the device or disabling it?I'm going to keep playing with it and possibly reaching out to customer support. However I think this is a bust. I've I feel better about it I will update this review.

SimCam lets me know instantly when my family leave the playroom while keeping the recording local, it’s great.Seriously, this was the fastest, easiest set up EVER!the camera actually speaks to you when you setup each device, guiding you through the install. Just about the easiest tech device setup I've ever accomplished. The camera includes a speaker, so you can listen in on the location of the camera, or speak through the phone and camera. The speaker quality is what you would expect from a speaker that is less than phone. It’s ok. The two way audio is better than the any of the other cameras that I've used in the past. While it doesn't pan & tilt, this gives me a very large range to look at- I was surprised at the amount of space it covered- I can hear, talk through to, night vision- all that I need.

the camera itself is decent, with a very clear image. when you can get it to work. The software is horrendous. I tried over and over again to make it usable, but I’m finally going to throw the thing in the trash.
