Expensive for what it is, but works great.
What I love:Boils water quickly, has temp settings that are perfect for preparing tea as well as proofing yeast for bread.Cordless with a totally low-profile heating stand.Lightweight and easy to operate spout.Volume measurement on the side is incredibly convenient for things like brewing coffee in my French press. What not to love? (mostly minor issues)Expensive. I mean, seriously. I bought this for about 90 dollars and looking at in in person I would guess it cost about 45.Cheap plastic - part of why it is lightweight, but the silver coating is stupid - just make it a fun color and don't try to pretend you are metal.Programmed settings: I would rather be able to pick temperatures between the presets.

Poorly made
Works like a charm, but is made pretty shoddily. Like the other reviewers mentioned, the lid WILL break off eventually and you'll have to replace the unit. The buttons wear off very quickly as well, making it difficult to know which one you are pressing. Good at heating up water, but I will be looking elsewhere for my next kettle purchase.

Pretty good warmer
This water kettle has been great. We've owned it for about 15 months. It's very reliable and durable. We like how it shuts itself off once the water is up to the temperature that you set. And it shuts itself off when the water runs dry or when you pick it up off its base. No more boiling water dry and burning your house down. ;-)But the reason I'm giving it 4 stars is that the lid always seems to stick and you have to press in and back a little to open it. Then about a week ago a piece of plastic on the lid broke and now it no longer stays shut at all.

Poor quality
This product is poorly made and I should have listed to the other customers who had trouble with the lid breaking after a few months. Mine took 8 months and the lid will not stay closed. When you call Capresso about their 1 yr warranty they inform you to send in ( at your cost to NJ) the unit to be inspected. If they decide it is defective they will send you out another unit, but will not refund the cost of shipping it to them. Pretty poor customer service on top of a poor quality product. Do not buy this unit as the lid will fail.

Cheap lid and Noisy
I purchased a glass H2O plus and the lid fell apart from the steam, so I figured I'd give this stainless one a try . The lid on this one is plastic also and it fell apart from the steam also after a few months of use. The button for opening the lid is a bad design also. It's also very noisy when in operation. The other features of this unit are great and it holds quite a bit of water. The main issue that makes it a failure is the plastic lids on these fall apart from the steam. If Capresso would make a stainless lid this kettle would be great.

Precise temperatures!
After seeing warnings against another variable temperature kettle (branded by a major tea vendor) that's totally hit-or-miss by 20 degrees, I was cautiously hopeful that Capresso's H2O Pro would avoid that problem. When this kettle arrived, I decided to play the skeptic and put to test it. Would it really hit 140F on the dot? Just a little above/below? A lot? After a short brew time, *two* other thermometers (one analog, one digital) agreed with the kettle: 140.0F on the dot! This is one excellently designed variable-temperature kettle! This kettle has now brought about more casual tea drinking. No more do I have to watch a stove or electric kettle like a hawk and stop it at the right temperature!Temperatures are programmable in 10F increments from 110F (warm on the wrist) to 212F (boiling). I like to make tea with 140F (a bit over scalding) as I use plenty of Japanese green tea that is temperature-sensitive. And I love how it can also be programmed to keep the same temperature continuously (or not, as you please).I only have 2 snags with this kettle:- At the temperatures I like, increments in 5, 2 or 1 degree make better sense than 10 degree increments.- When taking the kettle off its base, it resets its temperature defaults to 212 (boiling). I'd prefer that it automatically kept my preferences while I'm pouring the occasional cup throughout the day. But that's just me. Turning it to the preferred temp again is just a few thumb-wiggles away (which makes the 10-degree increments a balance of convenience).Since no other variable-temp kettle I can find on the market is better than this one, these are just would-likes and don't detract from what I feel is a kettle at the head of its market.5 Stars.

Does the job and is attractive
Tired of insipid drip coffee we switched to a french press so that we could control the water temperature of the water. This kettle does a great job. A button allows quick changes to some preset temperatures for boil, coffee and various teas as well as "hold". We returned two other kettles because we could not control the temperature. The chrome finish is attractive. It is easy to see how much water you have in the kettle. Have had it for a few weeks now and am very satisfied..

It's outside gets pretty HOT
I hoped and expected the outside to be somewhat insulated, but it isn't. You need to take great care because the outside gets very hot also.
