I really wanted to love this. I debated about trying it for years. I live in the San Francisco bay area where its humid and I was sweating in bed.It felt soft to touch and helped the sheet stay warmer so it didnt feel like getting into a freezing bed.However, my purpose was over a memory foam, so applying this (I did not sweat) but this Elite model is made with such a durable sturdy backing it stiffened up the memory foam so much my husband and I ended up rolling to the middle like an old matterss the springs went out of instead of the normal memory foam feel where we are both in our own separate indention.I am thinking it may loosen up with washing, But I just had back aurgery and its not in my cards to drag it to the laundromat (I am under restrictions not lifting <5 lbs) and risk it not working to soften it up.

We bought this to reduce the hot/cold issues on a tempurpedic mattress. It works great for that. The summer sweats seems to have generally gone away and as we rolled into cold weather my wife is not freezing anymore and has gotten rid of the electric blanket. Highly recommended if temperature issues have you thinking about ditching you tempurpedic. We haven't had it long enough to do any sort of wash cycle so can't comment on that yet.

This mattress topper was so soft and soothing. Well worth the price.
