No mute
No mute, otherwise it would be awesome. We use this with h91. The QuicckDisconnect telephony headsets are far more convenient for training purposes, so we use QD headsets with these adptors for our voip applications.

perfect for high end headset's with microphone
Wife works for Allstate fortune "000" SIC. she has a real high end headset to drowned out call center cross talk. works with USB with no issue.

Works as advertised, very happy with it.
I have an old favorite Plantronics over-the-ear headset with the tube mic. I have used it with work phones for over 15 years. It was always my standby. Then I starting working where I need to use Google Talk for phone. I tried 4 different bluetooth headsets, and the outgoing sound quality was poor on all of them. No saying it's the headset at fault, but for me with my wireless network the connection was suboptimal. My boss sent me a Plantronics over the head style, USB wired headset. The sound quality was great afterwards, but the thing hurt my head because it put too much pressure on my eyeglasses. I started looking for something else, and stumbled on this adapter, which allows me to use my old favorite headset with the quick disconnect. I am now a happy camper, no longer completely leashed to my desk. Could only be better if it were completely wireless. Considering I'd spent and wasted over $200 on non-working solutions, this is the best $35 I've spent.

Had to return it
I'm hearing impaired and use Sennheiser headsets with microphones on Skype for all my telephoning. This adapter wouldn't accept the "standard" light green and pink male jacks on the Sennheiser.

Great little gadget!
I recently purchased the DA40 USB Headset adapter so that I could use my extremely comfortable Plantronics Supra Headset (H261) to take a class online. The DA40 is "plug and play" so there was no software to install. It has the quick release so you can easily switch from VOIP to landline. The only thing that would make it better is if it had an inline mute button, but the price of this item more than made up for it, so I gave it 5 stars anyway. The newer DA60 has that but is three times the price. I knew before I purchased the DA40 that the mute feature was missing, but didn't think it was worth an extra $60 just for that.

Allows using Call centre headsets
Lets me use my call centre headsets on my PC. So saves me money on replacing headsets and their generally WAY higher quality then the ones I would normally use. Plug and play, just works with everything I've thrown it at program wise, extremely happy with it.
