Worth the splurge
Even though I paid an arm and a leg for this bag, I don't expect to need another carry-on in my lifetime. The fabric is the same gridded nylon as a regular sportsac purse but heavier, and there is thin padding in some areas. The zippers are also heftier than the ones on the purses. I agree with one of the other reviews that the side pockets are not much good for a water bottle, as they are only about 5" deep. The bottom has a stabilizing bar that protects the fabric and makes the bag stand up off the floor. I also like that there are not many, small separate compartments--it has two front pouches and the main cargo area-- simple and unfussy. I'm beyond the age of carrying a pack at this point, so I may cut off the straps and use the back pocket to shove a jacket in. The only con (and the reason I deliberated between this back and a Kipling rolly pack), is that there are no front bungies to stuff your jacket and magazine in.

light weight and tasteful
I use this for my laptop, camera, books, jacket, snacks--everything I don't want in my checked baggage and may want during sometimes long flights and non-stop flights. I do not use this as my only suitcase. It stands upright on its own and doesn't topple over. The extension handle is the perfect length for me (5'4"). Highly recommend it.

Good-looking, but not so functional
Side pockets ripped in the first month of use, not to mention they are so low that my regular-sized water bottle was constantly falling out of them. I called the company and left a message; no one got back to me. Only one large pocket--needs a divider in there. Quite heavy when carried on the back. A good looking bag (gets lots of compliments), but not so functional.

Light weight and fits a large laptop
Pros: This rolling backpack is very light weight (4lbs) and fits my 17" laptop, which were two important factors for me. I have taken it on a couple of trips and have had no problem fitting it under the seat in front of me, or using it as my additional "personal" item. The backpack straps are reasonably comfortable -- the back is pretty stiff, as is the case with most of these rolling backpacks. I haven't had any trouble with the pull handle dropping down, as another reviewer reports. The fact that my 17" laptop fit in here was a huge selling point in this bag's favor, and the fact that it doesn't weigh as much as a lot of these bags was also huge. I also like that it is made of a nice, soft, malleable fabric. (For instance, I think the High Sierra backpacks are ridiculously stiff, bulky, and heavy. And if it helps anyone out there, my laptop did not fit in the "Targus Compact Rolling Backpack," but does fit in here, and they probably weigh about the same.)Cons: Pretty minor. The fabric to cover the straps when you are rolling, or to cover the wheels when on your back, is a little silly. I placed a piece of industrial strength velcro on it to keep it up and out of my way. When I roll it, I throw the straps over the top of the handle and then pull it up so they stay out of the way, or shove them in what is now a velcro pocket. The side water bottle pockets are not very deep, or secure. Stable enough for rolling, but not the most trustworthy pockets if you need to lay the bag down under the seat in front of you on the plane. It would be nice if there was a laptop pocket or separate, large zippered compartment, but it's not a deal breaker for me, especially since they only tend to fit smaller laptops. It's a bit of a pain to try to put the laptop back in when fully loaded, but keeping the laptop sleeve inside the bag to retain the space seems to work. The MSRP is ridiculously expensive, but if on sale, I think it's a great bag for the reasons listed here.

This is a great bag, light and easy to pull in the airplane aisles. Also, easy to put in airplane overhead cabin without taking too much space. Will buy another one.

Not as expected
When I ordered it I was very excited because I had searched for a long time. When it arrived, I was very disappointed . The pattern I ordered was completely different from what was delivered. The handle was cheap and did not lock in the open position, making it difficult to walk with, it would collapse !I never even used it. This is the first time I ordered from Amazon that I was not pleased.

This is a great bag.
This is a high quality bag that's just perfect for those frustratingly SMALL overhead bins on puddle jump flights. This one actually fits if you don't over stuff it.
