Perfect
Product came without damage, was relatively easy to put on following online documentation. BE WARNED this does not come with instructions, but it is quite easy to find the instructions.

Got it to work
It's a pity that there appear to be no alternatives to Kindle DX if you want an e-ink device with a big screen. I thought of buying a new one after my screen got damaged, but there were only used ones available (at the price of a new one). So I decided to try my luck with this replacement screen.I have little experience fixing electronic devices and there were no instructions in the box, but, somewhat to my surprise, I managed to replace the screen without major hitches. There's a video in Youtube by the user "Powerbook Medic" showing how to take a Kindle DX apart. You only need a small Phillips screwdriver and some flat-headed tool. No soldering or special tools are required.Unfortunately, there are apparently no good instructions on how to replace the screen anywhere online. Fortunately, it's not that difficult. Once you have the system board exposed, unplug the ribbon cable connecting the screen to the board by lifting the top of the ribbon holder. Remove the ribbon carefully so that you can reuse the adhesive tape with the new cable. Then use the flat tool and your fingers to gently pry the screen apart from the board and the front bezel (it's glued on). Be careful not to detach the silver foil glued to the bottom of the board. Then put the new screen in (it might make sense to add glue, but I didn't) and insert the ribbon cable into the holder. To put the device back together, retrace the steps in the video. I can't guarantee that you won't damage your Kindle if you follow these instructions, but if you do everything very slowly and attentively, there shouldn't be much risk. The new screen works fine, but I give it only four stars because there were no instructions attached. I knew that when I ordered it, but that doesn't make it any less a defect.

Product might good, but who knows....
You will recieve an eink screen with the connection ribbon attached and nothing more. There were no instructions provided with this screen (even in a very limited way to properly connect the power source or what different connection points are on the ribbon). You recieve only the screen with no tools, additional connectors, or additional wires to make the delicate connections. So there are no included replacements for any mistakes for your attempt.Although I opened my broken Kindle device from youtube instructions, it appears that only the battery can easily be replaced. It is extremely difficult to replace this screen since the electrical ribbons are extremely delicate and in some cases the board is glued down making removial of the electronics very trickey. Addiitionally, soddering and specialty glues might be needed to make the correct connections between the screen ribbon and the electronics board. This is not an easy project and there is not much help out there on this topic (try a Google search before thinking about this). Unfortunately, in the end, it is easier to just buy a used one, than make this type of repair yourself. Overall this is not a worthwhile investment; unless you are an electical engineer with all the right equiptment and knowledge.

Good quality, easy to mount
It is a quite expensive spare part, but it is good quality and fits perfectly on the original Kindle DX. The repair is quite easy and quick.

Delivered in perfect order, I had no issues replacing the old screen (thanks to some videos on the web.) Performing well and seems clearer than the screen it replaced (old and scratched/tired?).While not product related, the seller responded to my queries promptly and was able to accurately identify the part I needed.

Being handy pays
Cheaper than buying a new device for sure. I work in surplus and someone brought in a Kindle with a broken screen, an issue I have fixed on another Kindle. It is a simple repair and now I have a Kindle DX.

Perfect replacement for the gen 2 dx kindle.
Perfect replacement for the gen 2 dx kindle. There are no instructions with the screen, so checkout http://www.rapidrepair.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=cp-kindle-dx for tear down instructions. There's a protective cover on the screen, so don't forget to remove it. Also you'll need to grab the metal frame from the original screen. The screen interface is a little different from the original screen, appears to have different curser in some modes, but I actually like it better.
