BEMIS 1240200 346 Eljer Emblem Plastic Toilet Seat, ROUND, Biscuit/Linen

Our Eljer Emblem toilet is over 20 years old; so was the old seat, which had stains that could not be removed. I think the original color was "almond". This replacement seat is "Biscuit/Linen", which is a little lighter in color, but looks like a good match when installed. If you have any questions on color, you can check the Bemis site and even order color chips, for a price.One reviewer complained the nuts and bolts were plastic. Too bad he wasn't around when we removed the old seat, which had metal nuts and bolts. The top of each bolt had rusted so badly that it couldn't be turned, and the nut was inaccessible to turn. We needed a special saw to cut off the old seat hinges, then shear off the top of the old bolts. I'm glad the new hardware is plastic, so we won't have to deal with that problem again. If the plastic bolts eventually break, they are inexpensive to replace.The seat was expensive, but Amazon had a good price compared to home improvement websites. It was certainly preferable to replacing the toilet, which is still attractive and has always worked reliably.

My MIL has a square front Eljer toilet in her bathroom from when she built her house 40 years ago. Unfortunately, the toilet seat had put in a full 40 years of service... and it showed!! Wanting to preserve this quirky vintage gem of a toilet, we went in search of a replacement seat. Voila! Here it is! It honestly elevated the appearance so much that it made me want to keep the old toilet and integrate it into my remodel plans.

Our house was built in 1985. We have 3 of these old Eljer 'Emblem' model toilets with the Squared off front. I searched pretty hard to find a cover in stores, hardware, plumbing supply and struck out. I found this on Amazon and was not sure if it would fit or not but the dimensions and appearance seemed right so I took the chance. Amazon delivered it in magical time. Got the Biscuit/Linen color which is a light cream. It doesn't match the toilet perfectly but you need to be looking for the difference to see it. The fit is perfect! The quality seems to be very good too. I'm glad I found this because I was almost at the point of replacing the whole toilet.

This is one of those crazy toilet seats from the '80s that people used and the manufacturer stopped stocking in stores. Basically, a pain in the neck to find and worse to try to match the color.We ordered two of these. One of them was perfect and the right color. The second one, we were unable to get the same color as the (icky) yellow toilet. I'm not sure WHAT color it is! So, we're using the Biscuit/Linen one and it is miles better than the old (icky) toilet seat, but the color is off. So, for the one that matches, FIVE STARS. For the other? Only THREE. I wish it were easier to get the right color.Still, it arrived on time, the price was reasonable, I guess, and it's clean and new.

Eljer’s size and shape is unusual and the original seat from 1985 had simply worn out. This fits well, but the lid is heavier than the old one, so it closes loudly if the lid is let go to early in the process. But, the fit was key and this works!

This looks better than the original seat. Great fit. Color almost exactly the same as the toilet. I really think that if I didn't know it was a replacement, I wouldn't know the difference. It is a nice update from the original. Very solid and not flimsy. Very easy to install. I plan to purchase another in the near future for another toilet.

This toilet seat works with the eljier as promised. The colour match is good as well. It came when expected which is pretty impressive for something that is "special order" from a wholesaler.

finally found a seat with the right shape. but this is just different than the oem. does not close flat. leaves about a half inch gap on the front lip. Not the gas that toilet seats are supposed to have due to the spacers, but a gap, gap because of the way the rear doesn't sit flush
