Strong, functional, subdued but stylish!
I had an earlier model of this Timex watch around 18 years ago-- at the time, they only seemed to come in weird color combinations and the face could only face one way. Still, that thing was clipped to my backpack all through high school and college until the carabiner spring broke! With the onset of 24/7 cell phone use, I never thought I'd have to carry a watch again, but one of my side jobs has a no-phones-on-the-clock rule, and I needed to keep track of the time for breaks and when to make my escape. Thus, I started looking around to see if I could find something similar to my old trusty Timex clip. I was so excited to find this one, because not only is it a simple black, but it lets you easily flip the watch face so that you can read the time correctly no matter which direction it is clipped in, which is nice, because I keep it on one of my jeans' belt loops (my old watch in this configuration would have meant reading the time upside-down). The carabiner design is great because I don't like the feel of things on my wrists (especially the sort of wristbands that trap moisture) and it's easy to clip on when it's time for work and take off when I get out.The clip on this one seems pretty sturdy, and I'm sure it will withstand all of my running around and abuse because Timex does have a reputation for taking a lickin'. Goodness knows my original clip was majorly beat up over time but the watch was always reliable! So far I'm super happy with this purchase. It's exactly what I needed, and perfect for my sense of style too. Absolutely wonderful!

Ideal watch that's not for the wrist
The Digital Grip Clip watch by Timex brings all the digital watch functionality without compromise.Case: VERY durable ABS plastic frame, and a secure clip that won't be undone by accident. The pivoting head allows it to be hung from a bag in one orientation, of flipped over and readable hanging from one's belt loop.Functions: Your basic digital watch functions are all there: 12/24 mode, chronograph, alarm, countdown timer, and indigo backlight. The buttons are face mounted, but otherwise just like your Timex Ironman or Casio digital watch.Other: Resists water to 50m depth. Very large display for the core numbers HH:MM so easy to read even at fairly steep angles.Upsides:1. Best watch I have ever owned.2. Stays accurate, and have only reset time once in 5 years.3. Battery exceeded 3 year life by 2 years--and counting.4. Takes a beating, and I have a rough job at times.5. Goes with anything I wear, including suits.Shortcomings:1. buttons can be difficult to depress, but if you set it and forget it, then you're just fine.2. The spring in the clip broke--after 5 years of considerable abuse. This torsion spring is irreperable by oneself, hence my need to replace it.3. Too bad Timex never made a dress version in analog.Verdict:Highly recommended. If this watch can last 5 years with me bumping it against something daily, then it should survive much more with you for years to come. At this price it is a definite bargain.

Durable and practical; an excellent value
I have always managed to really beat up wristwatches and finally solved that problem by keeping a watch in my pants pocket (a somewhat clumsy solution). I kept my eye out for a digital pocket watch until I found and bought my first of these Timex clip watches several years ago. Because the price allowed me to do so, I soon purchased a second one to solve the ongoing "argh, it's clipped to my other pants" problem. Both watches have been through the wash a couple of times (NOT on purpose) and resumed working when dried out. They've been smacked around a bit (not nearly as much as I used to smack around wristwatches!) and gave me no problems until last month when first one, then the other responded to a press on the backlight button with an odd whine and a blank display, which later spontaneously came back to life ... completely reset. Apparently this was the signal that both required new batteries -- two batteries, a tiny jeweler's screwdriver, a pair of reading glasses and less than 15 minutes each later, they are back to functioning normally, just like the day they were purchased. I have no idea what their ultimate lifespan is, and I am admittedly less rough on my "things" than some other people (though by no means am I easy on my watches). These Timex clip watches are an exceptional value, especially in a day and age when most affordable products are built to fail, or at least engineered with a finite lifespan (due to non-replaceable batteries and the like). Good for me, good for the planet in comparison to the many "disposable" watches out there ... two thumbs up!!!

Evaluation: Timex T73751 Clip Watch
**** + 1/2I actually suggest 4.5 stars. This is an excellent product. Everything works as advertised and I use all the features. It has already been subjected to heavy and wet weather conditions without a problem. It keeps time very well with no significant time drift. The chimes are loud enough and the timer is excellent. Some buttons are hard to press, however, is mainly the Indiglo/Set button. Maybe that has to do with ensuring battery is not wasted inadvertently and not accidentally going into a configuration mode. Timex may have designed it that way - not sure. In any case, unlike other time keeping devices I have, I have not yet accidentally set a value on this watch yet (which is a very good thing). I have yet to see how it will perform in the cold winter season. The one thing I wished was the date to be displayed on the same display as the time. You have to press the Date button to momentarily display the date. No biggie, just my preference. This device is pretty light compared to lesser featured products. The clip/spring feels very confident and looks/feels well-designed. The price was fair at Amazon at just under $20. I recommend this product.
