Piscifun Phantom X 5.3:1 Baitcasting Reel, 18lb Carbon Drag, Carbon Reel Handle, Centrifugal Brake Low Profile Baitcaster Fishing Reels

I have been waiting a while for a reel that was similar to the Piscifun phantom because that was my favorite reel. The phantom X feels low profile just the way I like. I always love the rubber thumb bar insert because it just gives added grip and better quality to a reel. The best part about the phantom X is that it comes in 3 different gear ratios and it’s color coded to each gear ratio! I have been waiting on a low gear ratio and a high gear ratio that was offered by Piscifun for a while. After feeling the quality of the phantom, I knew the X would live up to the same standards. Carbon fiber handles and EVA knobs are added bonus! Affordable for any type of angler! I cannot wait to slap this on my rods and get to FISHIN’! Tightlines!

I love this reel!!! I bought this in the mid gear ratio, the inner braking system alone seems to be a great feature to help make casting smooth and to make the reel look beautiful. The drag is super strong and will take on most fresh water fish with ease. These reels have became my favorite after only one fishing trip.

So this is now my third reel I have purchased from Piscifun. I have been a bass fisherman for over 20 years and I also do some stealhead fishing as well. I have to say that for the money these reels are very nice. I own reels from all of the major names and some of them were getting pretty old so I decided to take a chance on some of the lower priced offerings just so see what they were like. One of the reels showed up with a slight manufacturer defect and they sent out a new one within a week, never asked for the defect back and it works just fine as is so it is on my steelhead rod. My other three reels, all level wind, are on my go to bass rods as these are, and I am not kidding, the best three reels I own right now. I am in season 2 with my first three reels and the reel in the subject line was purchased this year. I held off on doing a review for one year just in case. They cast and wind smooth as silk and have plenty of drag to tackle anything I catch so for a fraction of the price of the big names I will continue to buy them.

Thanks to this company for keeping fishing affordable. They somehow produce good quality products at affordable pricing. The Phantom X is a fine example. I purchased the 5.3:1 gear ratio for throwing spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. The reel was easy to setup. It casts really far, and I mean really far. Plenty of cranking power to bring in large fish. Haven’t had a chance test out the upper limits of the drag, but when does that ever happen in real world situations? Keep up producing quality products like this and the bam will become a fishing household name.

the 5.3:1 gear ratio'd reel is a GREAT crankbait reel, big or small this smooth reel will let you put it where you want and wind in the fish when they get ahold of it.

The look of the reel is amazing! Feels like top brand quality! But! Only downside that I found was that Piscifun doesn’t pre oil/ lube their reels. Took the side plate off to adjust the magnetics and then put back on and it started to make a rubbing noise. Lubed up the golden ring where the plastic meets the metal and instantly fixed the issue! Not exactly 5 stars but definitely worth the money! Just make sure to lube the worm drive and all moving parts prior to fishing! Fast and free shipping!

Having used this reel one time, I can give it a thumbs-up. Spooled it up with 12 lb test Stren and caught a few small bass on a spinnerbait. It is a bit more difficult to dial this reel in for casting performance but it does OK. Drag seems smooth. It is pretty evident that the tolerances and overall quality aren't up to the standards of a premium brand higher-end reel.And it needs to lubing before first use.Also, it was very difficult to remove the side plate for spool removal the first time. It is tricky but read the Q&A for this.The carbon fiber handle seems like a nice touch.

Great for 45 bucks, though I wouldn’t say it’s comparable to reels that are 100+ bucks like some claim. I gave it five stars because even saying that, I still like it better than my other reels at around the 60+ price range. It is really smooth, but you can still feel the gears a little until you open it up and grease/lube it - it feels better afterwards but still noisy when casting. It does cast well and without backlash even though it’s seems noisy. It’s easy to access the brakes and I do like the centrifugal brakes. Definitely worth it for a beginner setup or for someone that just doesn’t want to spend much. It’s definitely comparable to my reels such as my Abu Garcia SilverMax, the older model Quantum Escalade, and my RG Daiwa, and I would choose this over them since it’s much cheaper. I got this for the gear ratio, since I needed a slower retrieve for cranking. The grips are more comfortable and the longer handle is a nice touch over the reels previously mentioned.

I catch big two biggest pike both almost same weight around 17lb in river. Braid Line is 75lb 0.30mm I love it reel easily life.

Decent reel. For the price it's better then most reels in its price range. Of your buying your first baitcaster this would be a awesome reel to learn on. Well made, does not have a cheap feel to it. Solid reel that so far is very durable. Find the side plat to be rather stiff taking it off and uses some force to separate from the reel. Keep my brakes at 0 and still feels like its using the brakes.

Super smooth and beautiful reel. The blue looks amazing on my StCroix legend. Nice to have your choice of gear ratio too. This is inexpensive, but it is NOT a cheap reel.

Smooth solid and a pleasure to use. This is my 5th piscifun reel to my collection. I have spinning reels as well. Can not fault the action, drag or feel of any. A pure delight

I bought this reel because it was cheap and I wanted to get into bait caster fishing. I took this reel on the water, and on my first cast I started having problems. The reel was very rough, scratchy and squeaked when I reeled it in. If you're considering this reel, go for a trusted name brand, or literally any other brand.
