Amazing little machine that is cheap enough to allow for awesome upgrades!
I purchased this computer because it has really great specs for the price, especially the built-in Wi-Fi 802.11ac that the majority of manufacturers have not yet figured out that most people would want if they knew about the performance benefits. Anyway, because of the low price, I knew that I would be able to do the upgrades I wanted to do right away. I spent the $227 ($247 - $20 rebate) on the machine and then purchased 16GB of Crucial RAM for $98 and a 256GB Samsung 850 Pro solid state drive for $153 (I have a NAS, so internal storage isn't a priority for me). After these upgrades, I now have a total of $478 invested in this machine and I now have the fastest computer I've ever owned - by far. I would put this PC up against machines costing twice as much and would feel confident in its performance. Everything it does is pretty much instant. I know the weakest point on this machine is now the processor, but I do not see the impact at all. I've ran it through all sorts of real world tests to make sure the performance is acceptable and I am consistently impressed with the performance. There is never lag of any sort and everything it does is super fast. With that said, any processor is going to show its potential weaknesses when doing things like video editing or heavy gaming. I haven't tested that yet because I don't ever do video editing or gaming. People often think they need the fastest processor regardless of what they will be using the computer for, but unless you are doing something like video editing or heavy gaming, you would be hard pressed to see the difference between this and any of the Intel Core series processors. It's hard to get much faster than instant loading of email and Web pages, so if you're just a regular computer user, save your money and buy something like this.I will say though, that out of the box, without the upgrades I did, the machine is still peppy, but the stock 500GB hard drive slows things down considerably when compared to an SSD. I have a laptop with an SSD, so my tolerance for lag is quite low, so chances are most people who aren't used to an SSD will find the performance of this machine acceptable. As with any computer, the addition of an SSD is one of the most noticeable improvements you can make. I can't say enough about the Samsung 850 Pro SSD I installed. It is the fastest drive on the market today and is very reasonable in price, providing you don't need over 500GB because it gets quite pricey above that level. The drive even has a technology that will use part of the system RAM for extra cache if you choose to enable that feature. That's amazing!!!

Good for the cheap.
A good little machine for what you pay. When you upgrade to Windows 10, do a BIOS/UEFI upgrade with the preinstalled ASUS AI Suite. Then, back your stuff up and do a clean install of the whole machine. Wipe out all the preinstalled ASUS partitions. When you finish the install, connect to the internet and let Windows 10 find and install all the drivers through Windows Update.Once I did this, the inability to resume from sleep was no longer an issue. Also, I put a $hitload of ram in it for no reason. (12gbs)Imagine that, 12gbs of ram with a celeron processor. Pretty much all of Windows is cached in RAM LOL.Its a cheap and mediocre machine, although i like ASUS's design and layout, the actual hardware and software should have been better thought out. For a HTPC its fine, for a family youtube and facebook machine its nice, with built in speakers to reduce desk clutter and a plethora of jack all mounted in the rear (4 USB 3.0, 2 USB 2.0, Full size Displayport and HDMI, optical audio out and analog audio out)

and I'm really really satisfied with it
I bought this as a Media Center in the living room, and I'm really really satisfied with it. I was able to play 1080p movies on my 47" TV with no latency or issues.Pros:- Small and price is really good- Out of the box, and ready to go- Decent performance for light uses- Lots of portsCons:- Windows 8- Not a computer for high performanceI think this is the best HTPC or Media Center considering the price (CPU, Memory, HDD, OS all included). Usually if you buy barebone PCs, you will most likely have to buy Memory, HDD and OS to go along with it. I think those additional components that you have to buy will most likely exceed or gets close to what this computer costs.I would like to emphasize that this computer was good for Media Center, however I wouldn't recommend this for everyday computing. Due to its Celeron processor, it sometimes even lags when I try to open up a browser. Maybe it could be improved by installing SSD along with windows7 or something, but I haven't tested it myself.
