totally amending my bad review
ended up being exactly what I needed....product was supposed to arrive in less than a week, which is definitely understandable, given the size, etc.BUT IT ARRIVED OVERNIGHT. NO KIDDING. the packaging was exceptional, blown insulation with the product protected. Upper bracket was still somehow bent, but hoping I can “coax it” back into place. I would rate it down slightly for that....but all things considered. The product seems very solid. happy accident that I ordered the high clearance....but any other would lessen departure angle.product comes with lug nuts, etc, everything you need. I read some complaints about the instructions....but the thing is basically self explanatory, and the directions are more than adequate. Great seller...was just mad about lack of response in trying to cancel, but more amazon’s setup than sellers fault.

Solid SUV Overland-Build Solution
Pricey, but not the most expensive swing-out style spare tire carrier. Great Wilco build quality and easy install. I was looking for a solid solution for carrying a full-size spare externally on my Subaru Forester without having to take up space in a basket on top. This fit the bill perfectly. I found workarounds for my license plate (tow hook relocation) and back up cam (center brake light mounted wireless cam). And with the Rotopax carrier, hi-lift jack mount and 2 gallon rotopax water carrier accessories, my overland-build is nearly complete.

Review of Wilco Offroad, not Tiregate
I bought Wilco’s Hitchgate Switch, Low Profile, in November 2023 from Wilco’s website. It was during a Black November sale and the Switch was not available here. I asked Wilco Offroad if this item would work with a 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness OEM hitch and they advised me it would work on my vehicle. I ordered it on sale, but almost $1200 retail, plus the license plate frame. My car was delivered after Xmas and the length of the bar on the Hitchgate runs into a crossbeam on the Subaru. When I told Wilco it didn’t fit after all, they took time getting back to me, then their late answer was “modify your vehicle or return it for 75% of what you paid.” Their support system sucks. They only seem to care about the initial sale and do not interface much at all with their customers after the sale. They appear to be shortsighted, and all they seem to care about is making that first sale and therefore will ignore the potential follow-on sales that come with good customer service. They really don’t explain installation well and they acted like it’s not their problem that they advised me it would work and it didn’t. I had hoped for better from Wilco Offroad.

Good for my 2001 Suburban as there ore few high end options.
The hitchgate solo high clearance rides a good 2 feet from the back of my 2001 suburban. From the side is looks a little out of place. I do believe that adding dual rotopacks will tighten up the look form the side. Overall from the back it looks tough. Well made and good construction. Definitely doesn’t look cheap. Also the high clearance is barely visible out my back window. It may obstruct my view say 5% at most. I have a trailer hitch that rides below my bumper. If you have a newer model suburban or similar with the hitch in the bumper, do not get the high rise imo. I love it. No regrets. Be warned, your going to need to relocate your license plate and get after market plate light or relocate your stock ones. I opted to buy the plate relocation and light from hitchgate. It was expensive, but they look good.

Super high quality!
This is probably the highest quality accessory I've bought for my car and I absolutely love it. My only problem with it was the price. It's fairly expensive. Also, I actually ordered the wrong one. This was the Solo High Clearance which is half a foot taller than the Standard Solo. It worked fine though so I kept it. Just be sure to read the description before buying.THIS WILL HINDER YOUR BACKUP CAMERA!!! I knew this going in, so it wasn't a problem. You can still see somewhat through the spokes without a tire cover.
