Don't Buy It! It's an expensive piece of neoprene and strapping that won't help your dog.
I should have listened to those who said "DON'T BUY IT!". What a waste of money! But let me be more specific ...First, the sizing is completely off. No matter what size you get, unless your dog has some seriously distorted legs (in which case, please see a veterinarian instead of buying this) it won't fit. It would probably make a better holster for a pistol than a knee brace. It has no adjustment straps to cinch tighter either, so if it is too large, you're out of luck unless you have a sewing machine that can handle a double thickness of neoprene (most home machines can't) or want to spend a good long while cutting it down to size and re-stitching by hand (which is what I finally resorted to).Second, it is cut from a single piece of neoprene folded flat and cut and sewn to the shape you see in the photo. It does not take the dog's three-dimensional anatomy into account as a pieced and fitted garment would. This means that though it looks like the correct shape (more or less) from the side, it does not allow for the heavier musculature of the thigh compared to the thinner structure of the dog's lower leg or the width of the knee itself. It has exactly the same amount of stretch for each part so it may be too tight in some places and not tight enough in others. Without adjustment straps to customize the fit, this is no better than putting a large tube sock on your dog's leg. The only difference is that a sock would probably conform better and be more comfortable. This provides no support at all -- even after taking the time to resize it. It's just a bad pattern.Third, the strap over the dog's rump is essentially useless. If you pull it tight enough to stay on, it is uncomfortable (mainly due to it's narrow width and lack of padding) and if you leave it loose enough to be comfortable, it falls down. A much wider, padded strap would have been a better option.Fourth, this is shown on a short-haired dog with a nice long and smooth leg. Without a way to open and close this thing it must be pulled up over the foot until it reaches the proper position on the dog's leg. Pulling this thing up when it is way too big is easy, but then it does not fit and is completely useless. Pulling it on when re-sized to fit is nearly impossible because it must be stretched over the wider portions of the dog's leg. If you've ever struggled to pull on a really tight thigh length sock, you will know that even while pushing down with your foot as you work it up your leg, it is not the easiest thing in the world. Imagine struggling to do that with an 85 lb. shepherd whose leg is sore and who really would prefer you not to mess with him. Now imagine having to do that every day until his leg heels. This is especially hard if your dog also has long hair obscuring the shape of his leg and getting pulled as you work the thing up and hope you have it in the right place.Overall, this is a piece of neoprene (which when opened up and laid flat covers an area about 1 foot square) a piece of 1" wide x 18" long strapping and a small piece of Velcro. For that I paid about $35. Considering its utter uselessness as a knee protector, I have just purchased an expensive bunch of sewing materials to stuff in my odds & ends bag to use on something more worthwhile someday. Take my advice and that of others who say, "Don't buy it!". It is really not worth the time or trouble. It won't help your dog and it will leave you frustrated and out-of-pocket good money that you could have put toward a better designed product or a vet visit.

I prefer the Kruuse over the Walkabout
The media could not be loaded. I have an older dog that loves long walks but is hampered by his chubbiness and a bum knee (combo of arthritis and a torn ligament). His mind, however, is sharp and he is an excellent problem solver.Since he likes to walk, he has been very wise at working with me on my various attempts to make his life easier. Sometime back I purchased a pet stroller so that we could still walk (other dogs) and then when he got tired he could hitch a ride the rest of he way. We became in sync with respect to when he wanted to "take a break" and when he was ready to walk some more. We have contemplated building him a wheelchair to help him better support his knee pain but have not arrived there yet so I researched knee support options and ordered this Kruuse Rehab Knee Protector as well as the Walkabout Canine Knee Brace 3.0 mm neoprene support sleeve [http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0145YQESI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00]I received the walkabout knee brace first and took it with me on the way to our walk without reading the instructions. It seemed fairly straightforward as far as slipping it over the knee and fastening it around him because the walkabout has two flaps to go around the dogs body. However, it kept falling off so I don't know how much it helped. It was only when we got back that I realized the item description clearly tells you that you have to attach it to your own harness, something I completely missed seeing when I placed the order. Since I don't currently have a harness for this dog, I can't say I have accurately tested it.Next I tried the Kruuse. Again, took it out for our walk with no instructions. Unlike the walkabout brace, the Kruuse only has one strap and it was not intuitive as to how you were supposed to put it around the dog. My initial attempt was to go over his body and then under his belly but this did not work because the strap did not reach. I checked the amazon reviews and read one that said to wrap it under the belly and then over the rump and this worked for us. The under belly part goes right at the top of the leg and the over the rump part end us a few inches above the tail. It then fastens into a velcro side pocket. We walked for an hour (about 45 minutes walking and 15 minutes of stroller riding for him) and the Kruuse did not fall off once. He seemed to have a skip in his step and appeared more surefooted when he was going up and down the sidewalk corners. He was able to pee and poop with no issues. I feel like the it would be good if it were a tad more snug in the fit around the knee but that is an easy fix with some basic sewing skills. I also read another reviewer who said it shrank a bit when it was washed, so I may try that.Overall, this was a huge success.I've uploaded some pics of how it fit.

Knee brace
I’ve never used it so can’t leave a review. However it was nicely made and I gifted it to a charity shop as wasn’t what I needed in the end.

Works better for a Female Dog
I purchased this for my Mastiff he had injured his leg and began to also have joint issue's as he was going on 10yrs old at the time. A employee at our Vet's office told us about these so I decided to purchase this one and give it a try. This brace does do what it's designed to do but the problem is if you have a male dog it tends to interfere with his genitals. No matter how we strapped it where it was positioned it always seem to rub against him in that delicate area. Otherwise the material is a good quality it's strong even for a almost 100lbs dog and did do what it was suppose to do which is take the pressure off the injured hip area. But we didn't put it on him as often as we should once we saw the issue it was causing. Overall not a terrible purchase but keep in mind if you have a female dog this should work great if you have a male dog beware you could come across the same problem we did.I now have it tucked away in a cabinet as we lost our big boy awhile back and now have recently adopted a beautiful female Dutch Shepherd. Hoping we never have to use this brace on her but if we did we would try it out for sure cause I know it does help with support to ease their pain etc.

Dog orthopedic Vet said not to use, as mucking up back bone, or it just fell off.
Dog orthopedic Vet said not to use, as mucking up back bone, or it just fell off. We were so hoping it would fix up puppy's torn ACL, but the baby carriage for rest worked better.

Hi up a size
Product came up a smaller then advertised. Bought XS and length of strap was 23.5 inches but you need 2.5 inches to fasten the strap down with the velcro. Had to re order bigger size

Good product but sizing off
My Bullmastiff (who is slightly smaller for her breed) has been struggling with her back leg since an ligament injury so thought this would help give her support. After reading the reviews I went for a medium size. Unfortunately the fit is not good. The part which covers the thigh is way too big and the joint (equivalent knee position) sections gathers and offers little support. The position of the strap across her back means it keeps sliding off when she walks. On the positive is doesn't bother her when i tried it on her and the fabric is nice.I will keep but will sew an additional strap to help keep it on and long the thigh seam to fit better. Not such great value for money.
