Blaupunkt GT Power 1200W - 1200 Watt 12-Inch Free-Air Subwoofer

This subwoofer tube I installed in the trunk of my old Audi 100 sedan. I also purchased a Blaupunkt 600W EMA 455 amplifier. This was my first amplifier installation and so far I have set up the wires just temporary. Due to lack of thicker wires I used 14AWG to feed the amplifier, far from the recommended awg for the amp. However the length of cable is just 2 feet as I am using a separate battery in the trunk. For the test I took signal only from one of my rear loudspeakers using an old RCA cable to the amp (cut and dismantled the wire to connect it on the speaker side). Despite the crappy job I did with the thin cables and this being my first installation, the result is awesome! Due to the rigid construction of the vehicle, there is no vibration heard when I am outside of the vehicle, it is very silent. In a different vehicle it may be different though. However in the car the bass is heard and felt very, very well! Exactly what I was looking for! Such a nice surprise! As a side note I bought the unit as used from Amazon Warehouse and saved about 1/3 of the price. Whoever returned it may not have liked it due to poor amplification. Or they may have tried it in a room as a sub. I also run a test in my living room and must say that the sound is nothing like in my trunk (small closed space). However I tried it without amplifier, just disconnected my home loudspeakers and pluged the wires into the Blaupunkt sub to confirm it is working.As a disclaimer I must say that I have never had a sub in my old cars, so the difference in sound is night and day. So I have nothing to compare the unit to. But when fed correctly I can assure you you won't be disappointed. by this 12 inch tube. At home though, I have Polk Audio LSi 25 speakers, so I know how good music should sound like :)Thanks!

OMG!!!!! With the right crossover and fed copious amounts of power these things ROCK!!! I have been running FOUR (free air) 10" subwoofers in the rear deck of my car since the 90's. For the longest time I was running 120 watts RMS to each. I was pretty happy for the most part. However I got to the point where I wanted more bass. A couple of years ago I stepped up to a pair of 4500 watt monoblock amps. I gained about 10% more volume, lots of headroom but now my still working, but sun faded, subs were very sensitive to too much power. (you know the 'fart' sound when they reach maximum excursion). That put me in the market for a new set of 4 subs. I am on a limited budget so I could not drop $800 to get 4. So I tried to find ones that were, poly coned, rubber surround and had decent excursion distance. At this point most "experts" would tell me to get 12s or 15s. Well I still wanted a back seat and a functional trunk so I needed to stick with 10s as that is the biggest that will fit. I did a lot of online research and ran across these. They fit my budget so I went for it. I just spent all day today replacing subs and fine tuning my crossover/bass boost. I have now gone from pretty loud bass to shaking the whole car. My drivers seat noticeably vibrates my butt with the kick drum and bass guitar. The rear view mirrors are fuzzy as well. I can't wait until they are broken in and really move freely. I am quite pleased. Note: I listen to mostly pop and dance music. I do not listen to competition style Rap/Buzz music.

Sounds Good for the price. The mounting straps are almost too short for the sub but it did work.

POWERED MEANS IT DOESNT NEED A POWER CORD TO THE AMP. YOU STILL NEED AN AMP!!!and a wiring kit, stereo deck and maybe a wiring harness

Didn't expect them to sound this good. Just so you know I'm old enough to have had cars with speaker 'coffins' in the trunk with 18" subwoofers. Yeah, we like to feel the music. But priority 1 is clarity. These little guys are great. Trunk space is very small & is only 14" deep at the top & 10" near the middle & due to a mismeasure on hubbys part we had to do a little arts & crafts to get them in. He cut 1 speaker out of its tube & stuck it in with the other so there is a speaker on each end. The only way to mount was sideways & he didn't want to exchange them for smaller. For the price they are great. Sound is crystal clear & bass is just right. Not the bassiest boom but again remember the price. Would buy again & again.

I bought this item thinking I would receive what is shown in the picture and description, I instead received a speaker tube. Same speaker but the listing describes it as a preloaded speaker box. Shipping it back would be a hassle with waiting for the correct item to get delivered, so I'll just keep the tube. Ship the product that is advertised in the description or change the description please.

Just got finished installing this with a JL 250/1 amp (great amp for the money) and this thing ROCKS! I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring convertible and even with the top down, it sounds great for beefing up the low end. With a good amp and headunit (for dialing in the exact EQ frequencies/ crossovers), there is not a better deal out there. I have installed all of my audio systems in my vehicles for over ten years and got exactly what I was looking for in this Sub/Enclosure combo. Deep Low End that you can hear and feel. Get a cheap amp wiring kit while your here with it, unless your local guy can hook you up- they're totally worth the savings with what they come with ;)
