Kordon#31311 NovAqua Plus Water Conditioning Kit, 1-Ounce

Note that this review covers the newer Amquel+ and Novaqua+, NOT the older, "non-plus" products pictured.This kit, which treats up to 60 gallons of water, is a convenient, relatively inexpensive way to give these complementary water conditioners a try.Both products safely remove chlorine from and condition tap water. Novaqua+--in addition to containing vitamins, electrolytes, slime coat protectors, and anti-virus additives--removes heavy metals from water, whereas Amquel+ targets and neutralizes ammonia, chlorine, chloramines, toxic pheromones, and "all noxious nitrogen compounds in the water, including nitrites and nitrates" (from the Novalek Web site). Between the two, all bases seem to be covered. One thing that I especially like is that Novalek states that Amquel+ doesn't interfere with beneficial bacteria, which was a matter of concern for me.There are other water conditioners that claim to be complete in a single bottle and most are probably pretty effective, but I suspect they don't offer as much as these two in tandem. Kordon states that the ingredients for each product adversely affect each other if stored in the same container and can only be combined in water. This makes sense, so this combo is what I'll stick with for my tanks, especially since it seems to help acclimate my fish to their new homes.

Don't know a lot about fish yet but this must work well because our two fish won at the carnival are not only still alive but growing and look happy:)
