Great all around watch, could be a one watch watch for some
This is a fantastic dressier watch. At 36/37 mm diameter it is a little small for me, but probably perfect for most. For a dress watch, I like that I can forget it-- leave it on my dresser, and it gets enough light to charge- and it is ready to go. For seldom worn watches I believe this is preferable to automatics (that require wearing to wind). This watch keeps fantastic time. I set it to the my Atomic Clock controlled watch and three weeks later it was within 4 seconds. The second hand strikes on each indice with no Shabazz or wobble. The blue of the dial is a nice tone- with a small bit of sunburst effect. The sides are a combination of polish and brushed- neither is Rolex or Omega quality brush work but it is far better than the over polished fake chrome look of so many less expensive watches. Brushed sides/ Polished top with polished bezel. The day date has fast set and is easy to do. Pull out the crown one stop rotate one way to advance the Day- the opposite to advance the Date.I "abused" mine-- in the Solar powered watch type of abuse. It sat far too long in a dark drawer. Initially it wouldn't take a charge. Then I read a hint online and pulled out the crown to wear the second hand is "hacked" (stopped). My understanding is this takes any drain from the battery. One day in on a window sill (making sure it didn't get too hot) and it was good to go>> and has worked great ever since. Many dressier watches forgo lume, but I like that this has rather decent lume so I can read it in say a darkened theater-- sure beats lighting up a phone by a long shot. Why only four stars? The strap-- genuine calf-- feels rather plasticky. Plus it is an odd 19mm size- less selection. Though many have had luck going up or down 1 mm so I will try that. Just shopping not too expensive good looking, comfortable leather straps.

Looks great, instruction manual could be improved
I'm not a watch aficionado, but then again I'm reviewing for a ~$100 watch, which I doubt watch enthusiasts are looking for anyways.I'll start with the packaging:It came in a small box, and the watch itself was wrapped around a small pillow. The instructions were where I found the first fault. They were not specific to this watch; rather, they said something like "if you own this model, then do this". Not a big complaint, since I'm good at following instructions so I did what I had to. Otherwise the packaging was great. The watch itself is great. The wristband is a bit hard and the leather surface on the black side feels slightly plastic-like, and wrinkled easily. The buckle (not sure what else to call it) is a bit tricky to maneuver, and it was sometimes difficult pulling the strap tight on my wrist.Setting the date was a bit tricky. First, in case you don't know, the days of the week are also there in spanish. Also, you have to set it at a certain time in the day, otherwise the day/date changes at 12 noon rather than midnight. Neither of these facts are mentioned in the manual, which led to experimentation on my part.Overall, I really love this watch and I'd recommend it to friends. I spent a long time searching for a good watch, and I finally decided to spend a bit more than I had anticipated to acquire this one, and I do not regret it at all. It looks great and stays accurate. I can wear it to and from classes at my university as well as to and from my office.Would give a 5/5, but didn't like the instruction manual and wristband (maybe it's because I haven't fully broken it in yet)

Very Nice Watch - Excellent Value
This watch is large enough to be easy to read while not being too bulky or heavy. I really like the styling of it, too. Being solar powered, there are no batteries to replace and, for all practical purposes, no maintenance; that's what I like: no hassles and no additional expense after buying the watch! I have a Japanese Casio solar powered "computer match calculator" that still works perfectly after 20+ years so I feel confident the recharging system will last a long time. The watch is just heavy enough to feel as though it has some heft and quality without being too heavy. The leather band is excellent and seems to be of very high quality and durability. The watch comes needing a charge, since it has been in that dark box quite awhile. 5 minutes in bright sunlight and it's good to go - it'll pick up the additional charge through normal light and usage - or just leaving it out in ambient light when not wearing it. It keeps perfect time. I like the second hand, too, that clicks to each second rather than just having a constant sweeping movement. The Weekdays are in both Spanish and English. If you set your weekday in English, it stays English; setting in Spanish presumably makes it stay in Spanish (I didn't try that). It is relatively simple to set, though you do need to read and follow the directions to do that - it's just a little bit tricky. My only complaint on the watch is that is not waterproof to some degree; it would seem that any modern watch would have that feature. This watch warns that it is OK for the occasional splash, but it should never be submerged. While the dial is luminous - it isn't for very long so unless it has been in the light within a very short time period, the luminous marks don't show up.Positive Points: Nice size and weight, high quality band, no batteries to replace, accurate time keeping, great looking.Negative Points: Not waterproof enough to make you feel comfortable about getting it wet in a rain or in a shower or other situations where it could get wet. Color is very blue-gray - I would have preferred a real blue. Watch band has a permanent loop too close to the buckle - but there is also a second movable look so the 1st one could be cut off.

Nice watch
Lovely watch . Only blue in a good light. It looks more black than the advertised colour ( as others have said ) I bought it as a present and the recipient was pleased with it.

Amazing! Classy
Amazing! Classy. I will have to say this watch is perfect for a navy suit. The face is not as blue... but more like navy blue. However.. it's beautiful and elegant.. It is very accurate in terms of time (solar technology) and also very very silent. But I have to say it is very very classy looking. It shines and will only use for *special occasions. my new favorite watch
