Joie Naturals MyGel Hair Styling Gel, 4 ounces

Well, I found my go to product for locs now! See pic - The bottom half without the clips are a day old and no flakes or residue! It smells great and lightweight. I’m going to stock up on some more now!

I use this for my boyfriends locs. He is three years into his loc journey. This is the only product I have ever used & we love it. A small jar last is about a year. I am 10 years natural with 4c hair & it works well on my edges if I want them laid down. I definitely recommend this product. A little goes a long way so don’t use too much!

I purchased this product for my starter locks. I only needed a very small amount on each lock, making sure to not touch my scalp with the products only meant for the hair and properly preparing my hair before using the gel. By properly prepared I mean that I clarify, moisturize, deep condition and seal my hair with my own blends. I don't get the whole edge control movement and all I can say is leave your edges alone and stop trying to make them do something that causes stress and breakage. This gel works the same way as Dolly Locks gel but it doesn't flake which is wonderful and it works great with my salt spray applied over it after it is set. My hair texture is a blend of dense, low porosity normal sized strands and an oily scalp. I have mix of wavy, coily, curly, kinky and some rogue straight hairs in places, with a high frizz hair that gives off a high sheen and low shine when the curl pattern is pulled. The price point of the gel is satisfactory since a very small amount is required for it to do it's job. The gel also gives off a dry/coated feel when it set and is tacky when initally applied so preparing the hair for this product especially if you have hair that need constant moisture. This gel in my opinion will not work to a customers needs if their hair is already in bad shape before use. Hope this helps.

Best product for your locs. I heart about this from Houston’s own Damien Walter, and I can’t go gets my dreadlocks done without MyGel. It doesnt leave any your hair with any residue like most locking gels and it’s made in New York and I live in San Diego. If I go call a salon and the don’t have MyGel, I wouldn’t even bother. Thanks to Damien Walter for letting people get informed about locking gels, and he is extremely funny too. Do your research . And thanks to Amazon Jeff Bezos..keep it up

Retwisted my daughter hair and was surprised this worked so well. We are on week 3 and her hair still looks great. Pic shows after her retwist. It smells good too. She uses it for her edges as well

I am a black woman and I have a curly hair pattern, but also short hair, so it can be difficult to achieve a slicked back ponytail. In fact, with most gels it is impossible. But, this gel is literally the best I've ever used. It has long lasting hold, even if your hair is super curly. You can use it on damp / slightly wet or even dry hair. Also it doesn't even leave your hair feeling dry, sticky, crusty, or turning white. It leaves it regular afterwards, if anything it feels a little thicker afterwards.

At first I was using a Loc serum to retwist however I felt like my hair was missing the shine and lay that it needed. So I decided to try this out since my hair is already acquainted with the product. I mean look! The shine speaks for itself and it smells so clean. Don’t be heavy handed with the product bc it’s pretty pricey but worth every penny!

I had to get this product bc all over YouTube dread heads praise this gel to the up most. It’s nots very greasy very nice smell & that bit of castor oil in it definitely helps promote a healthy scalp n growing long pretty hair. Money well spent
