NutrafinWaste Control Bio Aqua Cleaner, 16.9-Ounce

does this stuff really work? I'm almost afraid to use with all the mixed reviews

Have 55gal community tank. Did partial H2o change & added the waste control. Nitrite level went went way up, nitrate also was up. Any idea why?

Nutrafin used to make a turtle cleaner which worked great. Now it is no longer around, do you think the fish waste control will work the same?
