Belkin CoolSpot F5L055-BLK Laptop Cooling Pad (Black)

I have used these for the last 4-5 years. I like the Belkin cooling and this model seems to be an updated design as the elevated back does not flip out/up like my older model. I think this is sturdier! Other than 1 issue 3 years ago ( older model) where the plug broke in the back of the cooling pad mine have worked fine and they do keep my laptop cooler, and it seems to give my laptop's internal fan a break. I also like the curved design as it creates a space between the bottom of your laptop and the top of the cooling pad! When you put your hand to the side of your laptop you can feel the cool air. If I do not have any problems with the new cooling pad and it lasts for 6 months or more I would buy another! The price was very good! and combined with my other 2 items the shipping was free.

I rated this at the top because we have an older laptop that can get really too hot to hold on your "lap" for a long period of time. This was reasonably priced and does a good job without making a whole lot of noise, either. We had a previous model from a different place and a different brand name. It just stopped working one day after using it for about 6 months. We haven't had this one that long but the fan does seem to cool better. I also like the angled top that is molded into the design and is not something you have to remember to flip out each time.

In choosing my first laptop cooler I checked Cnet reviews and found through further research that this laptop cooler was highly recommended. I really love it and it cools the laptop quietly and almost immediately, my only complaint is that if you're at any sort of angle at all or have a heavy laptop the rubber grips won't hold the laptop very well, it slides easily.

Purchased this on November 4 and it is already falling apart. Usage has not been super heavy or rough at all. The fan stopped working a couple of days ago and when I looked at it this morning it appeared that two pieces of the propeller had broken off and wedged it so that the whole thing just stopped. I did pry out the two broken pieces and the fan is working again but for something I received less than three weeks ago I am very disappointed. It's junk and I will try to return it. When the fan runs, it does a decent job of cooling. But it is poorly made. Would rather spend more money for a product that lasts.

I am giving this fan two stars because it did keep my laptop cool...for the four months that it actually worked. However, at a price that is higher than most of the other fans out there, it is not wide enough to cover the entire bottom of the computer, making balancing your laptop on top of it a bit difficult. Also, the two rubber grippers at top and bottom do not have enough texture to hold your computer still, so if you bump it, your laptop will slide right off the tiny fan. The fan does not have an on/off switch, so if it is plugged into your computer, it is running. It is rather noise as well. However, the worst thing about this fan is that it DOES NOT LAST!! I had mine for only 3 and a half months when it literally stopped running while it was under my computer sitting on my desk. I noticed my laptop was warming up and I looked to see what was going on. The fan had stopped, died, and worked no longer. Poor quality for a higher price than better fans on the market.

Good product but doesn't work too long (6-12 months) before fan begins to make a significantly annoying noise, which eventually grows loud enough to become annoying, giving one no choice but to disconnect it. That said, if you check the design of some of the non-fan models of cooling pads, this rivals them, even when the fan isn't running, as it keeps the laptop off the surface with space for sufficient air to freely (although not fan blown) to circulate, which is not idea but has to be better than nothing at all (than just sitting a laptop on a flat counter).

This keeps my medium sized (13.5 inch) laptop nice and cool. The top remains a little warm but it seems to cool the batter and the extra lift off my lap is appreciated. No complaints so far after a few months use. Also it's not too loud and distracting which is nice, my desktop is so loud and I was afraid I'd pick a bad laptop cooling pad that would be distracting like my roommates. I recommend!

I bought this a month ago, in addition to a fold out-version (see below). This one is for travel and lap use, the other stays home on the table top where my docking station is. This one is excellent for it's purpose, although I recommend the other (Black USB Powered Foldable Cooling Pad with 2 Fans by GTMax) for placement on your usual desk. I've used the Belkin (by the way, all the Belkin stuff I've bought is good) several times on trips, usually on a table top, and it does well and puts the laptop at a helpful ergonomic angle. Get both, they're cheap!.

This pad is great value for money.But my dad is quite happy with this, replaces his pillow.It slots into the USB port and the fan cools the laptop saves you from burnt thighs.

Wing of Fan are very fragile...3 wings already broken within 6 month, don't how if its covered under warranty of 3 year. Obviously I have put finger or something to intentionally broke it...
