Zamst brace is better choice than Chinese knock-off brands have not passed FDA tests
I have used the Zamst ankle brace for about two years for an old skiing injury where ankle broke and rotated 90 degrees. After surgeical repair, I worked to get complete range of motion back, but the ankle sometimes causes pain or discomfort when on uneven ground. The Zamst brace works great in reducing or preventing pain, but the brace seems more expensive that it needs to be. I contacted the manufacturer and got this response about a cheaper knock-off brand offered by Sneino on Amazon. Here is the response by Zamst:"Yes we are aware of that fake A2-DX made by Sneino. That is not our brace and is made of very different material/ construction. I would be very wary to purchase a product like that as it has not gone through any of the FDA and medical qualifications we have gone through. Zamst is a Japanese brand and a class 1 medical device by the FDA but we unfortunately have several knock offs of our product in China. we recommend only purchasing the A2-DX through a certified dealer."By the way, I noticed that the Zamst brace weighs about 9 ounces versus about 7 ounces for the Sneino, but not sure if that difference includes packaging. If the weight difference doesn't include packaging, then clearly the Zamst is using better material. In addition to the Zamst brace I also ordered a lace-up type brace (Zenith ankle brace by Z Athletics for $25.99). That provides slightly better support than the Zamst, but the problem with that brace is that it takes a very long time to put on and take off the that brace, so that might be used for long hikes instead of trips to the gym where I want to put on/remove the brace quickly.

No ankle sprains in three years!
My son is a year-round competitive basketball player and has had regular ankle sprains before I bought him these braces. He now wears them at every practice and game, and he has not had a sprain since. He is #32 in the pictures. I watched him dunk the ball in a pre-game warmup, hand on the rim, and come down, landing directly on the ball when he hit ground. He fell down, but his ankles were fine. He is HARD on things, and wears these every day, sometimes for hours, and I am just now replacing one because a strap tore off at the heel. These braces outlast his SHOES. Well worth the price. He is wearing the braces in every picture taken of him on the court. NOTE: These are tricky to put on at first, and I had to find a youtube video and watch it and demonstrate for him. Once he figured out the learning curve, it was fast and no big deal. Highly recommend. These are a great design, comfortable, protective without being restrictive, and durable.

These used to be good
I ordered two of these and they are absolutely unwearable. I purchased 2 Zamst A2DX ankle braces on the recommendation from a friend who uses them. I initially tried on my friend's brace and it felt great. The braces that I ordered feel much different and pinch me in a way that doesn't allow me to play basketball with them. The brace that he owns was made in Vietnam, the braces that I own were made in Japan.

Held up all football season!
I wore these for every practice and every game and they have held up to the same standards as when I first got them. I have an old ankle injury from the military which still causing me pain. Some how I always role my ankles when working out but I need that wouldnt go good with playing on a womens full contact football team so I decided to get ankle braces (for both feet so that it would be balanced) I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THESE! I haven't had one ankle or foot injury this entire season even with as weak as my ankle is. Id recommend these to anyone playing sports with an old injury that hasnt went away or maybe didnt heal right. They are very comfortable also! I did have to buy running shoes and cleats a whole size bigger so keep that in mind.
