So far, the best laser MFC printer for the price
This Samsung Laser MFC printer has got it all. It will connect to your existing (home)office network via WiFi(b/g/n), ethernet, or direct USB. It can even support wireless direct printing on a separate network just in case the main network is down. Its most modern feature is the ability to print from ipods by resting the device on a designated area, select the doc, and print. Other features are solid to Samsung's years in printing experience. Laser print out is good, b/w and color inclusive. Scanning documents is speedy and has lots of destination option including email and USB. Copying is quick. Faxing is straight forward, albeit feeding from the auto feeder or from scanner. Installation software was very intuitive. I did have a chance to talk with Samsung support both level 1 and remote support. I was experiencing some anomaly, preventing static IP address to be used for the printer. Eventually, that was resolved and it works great. Now my only dilemma is whether to keep the unit powered on when not in use or allow the wake-up feature do its job. I've tested either way, and wake-on-activity works great. The software driver loads an ECO friendly printer manager allowing you to decide how to print your docs. I have all computers set for ECO friendly, thus extending life of toner, and using less power and resources. Good modern stuff. My other basic laser printers are Samsung ML-1740s and those handle the everyday B/W requirements. The MFC will take back seat but will certainly see action with color printing, faxing, and scanning to file. The cost of toners are pretty affordable. Collectively, they don't cost more than the printer so it's a great buy. I've used other brands but for my home office, so far, this is the best laser MFC printer for the price.

No longer supported by Samsung!!!!!
Samsung sold its printer division to HP. HP is doing only basic support and updates are few and unreliable. the software is wonky (the correct professional term) HP has no incentive to correct the software. I love this printer good quality prints easy to install original cartridges are way overpriced but there are plenty of aftermarket alternatives available. I just can't recommend that anyone buy this printer now which is why I gave it such a low rating. THE FOLLOWING IS ONLY MY OPINION AND VERIFIED...The printer has been out of production for a few years HP will probably end any support for this printer for 5 years after production has ended. If you buy a new one now you will have issues once HP abandons support.

Freed me from my HP-induced masochistic tendencies
I'd been stupidly using HP printers almost my entire adult life, both at work and at home, which has turned me into somewhat of a masochist. I would frequently cut myself with razor blades just to experience the pain and white hot burning rage I felt whenever the HP printer would take 10 minutes to "warm up". I fed on rage. Then our OfficeJet was forcefully removed from our household and a bright light went off over my head, not unlike Wyle E. Coyote when he had a dastardly idea to catch that Road Runner bird."Why not get a printer that *isn't* made by the soul-sucking rage-inducing Hewlett Packard company?"My wife slapped me in the face immediately, then started crying. Then laughing. And we both embraced, knowing what we had to do.I looked online at printers and saw this one. The cost was low for a laser printer and the reviews were good, so we decided to try it. So far, it's been great for our needs, which admittedly, are light. It prints at a reasonable speed, the quality is very good, and there's several decent functions such as Eco mode that saves energy and ink, as well as Cloud Printing that connects to your Google account. Plus, we both have Samsung phones and tablets which makes it easier to print. The only downsides I have noticed are that it doesn't hold a lot of paper and the fax, which is a worthless antiquated technology that only jackasses living in the 19th century still want to use because they haven't heard of scanners or email, is not very forthcoming with the sent/failed reports. Other than these couple of things, we're very happy with our purchase.I hope to never go back to HP. Ever. My scarred arms and mind don't ever want to relive that pain again.
