Fine while it worked but it died after less than 10 months. I think something that has a "3-year limited warrantee" should last a bit longer.Update:I did contact the Dirt Devil people. Once you can get them on the phone, they were responsive. After trying to revive my unit, they offered to send me a new one since the 3-year limited warrantee was still in effect.. The new machine has arrived and so far it is working well. So I will upgrade my review from two stars to three. Here's hoping it will last longer than its predecessor.

The actually performance at full power is great. The reason for 3 stars is due to the battery life that is well reviewed here. I have a toddler and while this product is obviously more for spot cleaning, there are times that I would like it to work on full power for at least 15 minutes, but don't expect anything close. If you just want a handheld for very quick spot cleaning jobs, this one is great. Anything more than that...I'd look elsewhere.

Because of the flip out extension, this vacuum is perfect for capturing stink bugs. I really don't know what I would have done without it. I have had hundreds in my house and if I had to grab and smush each one by hand, I would have lost my mind. They also don't stink that much when we use this vacuum compared to when we use our big shop-vac (which is also great for when you have a whole squadron). Maybe less trauma. Anyway, they can't get back out once captured and my husband disposes of them in bulk. It also stays charged forever because we only use 2 seconds at a time. I am buying a second one for my car. There is nothing so awful then driving down the road with one of those things flying around your car. Talk about distracted driving!

HORRIBLE WASTE OF MONEY!!! Bought this in hopes it would help to clean my grandchild's car seat as well as 'quick-clean' of steps...NO such luck! Battery lasted all of 22 seconds on first attempt cleaning steps and even less after re-charging and attempting to clean the car seat!! It has never held more than 2 seconds of charge since!! Threw it away finally in frustration!! Never again for this brand!!

I am trying to register the product as it claims a 3 year warranty. They say the Model #10050 doesn't exist. That's interesting! I guess it's one of those things made in China that one has no idea how long it will last. Don't know if I would have purchased it under these circumstances. WARNING

I have owned many of these little hand vacuums. I just wish the battery was replaceable. I know that it will serve me well for a year or so, and then die a slow death. I primarily use mine in the bathroom to vacuum all those stray hairs that always seem to land on the floor. The landfills must have millions of hand vacuums as it's not easy to recycle them.

As mentioned in some of the other reviews, the battery life is really poor (about 5 minutes) and it only really works when fully charged if you are using it on carpets (in your car for example). If you just want something to clean up a small mess on tiles, then it's fine, but if you want to do anything more than that, you can probably find something better.

I purchased the Dirt Devil Scorpion for small cleanups that my upright vacuum couldn't do well. It is light and well suited to clean around windows and window sills and pick up small items on floors and furniture. No more issues with a hose that is too short or working around a power cord that can snag or wind up wrapped around your leg! The built in crevice tool is convenient. A brush attachment would have been nice but all and all this has proven to be a good value.
