Best humidifier!
I love this humidifier. I got this based on a recommendation from a colleague at work and am so happy I did.1) The heating element is completely enclosed to reduce the risk of burns. I've stood over the unit with my hands over the steam and the temperature is about that of a hot steam shower. I've also taken it apart while the heating element was running and the quantity of water that is heated at a time is so small, I didn't get burned. While, I don't recommend throwing caution to the wind, I'm happy that it's a relatively low risk unit.2) There's a little extra reservoir for essential oils.3) It's efficient and effective. The water reservoir is large enough to run for 12 hours on low, which means you don't need to get up in the middle of the night to refill. The slow steady steam effectively adds a lot of moisture to a12' x 12' room. We've woken up to foggy windows and mirrors in the morning from the steam in the air.4) No problems with mold. I've had this since March 2015 and experience no issues with mold, even through the summer months. I've even left standing water for more than a week. In previous cool mist humidifiers, I had mold problems like crazy. I don't know why.5) Clean up is super easy! All the parts slip out and snap back in quite easily. Minerals do build up around the heating element, but I just take it apart and de-calcify the build up. I consider this part of the normal maintenance so don't consider the build up as a con. To avoid build up, you could use DI water or Zero water with lower particulates.I highly recommend this humidifier over a cool mist humidifier.

Good humidifier and works great!
I think for the price this unit is extremely hard to beat. Proper maintenance is required, and is in my opinion required on an almost daily basis to maintain vapor quality (free of mold) and a daily soaking with vinegar over the heating element.Everything about this humidifier feels sturdy enough, and everything fits together well when assembled. I experienced no leaks what-so-ever and had a nice wide top for filling water in the tank.Starts creating warm to hot (if close) mist after about a minute of being turned on with full tank. I use cool water, not cold water so I leave the hot water on slightly with the cold to do that.We have a small bedroom and this humidifies the room nicely. The only con is that the heating element gets caked full of mineral deposits after every full tank is gone so as mentioned earlier, will basically require a daily cleaning. Not really a fault of manufacturer or of this model, can't escape that minerals are in our water!Would recommend to anyone and is a great deal for the price. Price wise, I'm not sure a more expensive model would yield much greater results especially when used in smaller rooms.

Three winters strong and still going. I own two!
I have now purchased two of these humidifiers. One in the winter of 2014 for myself and one this winter (2016) as a christmas present for my mom. I love this model. It works incredibly well and lasts as long as it says it will. 24 hours on low and 12 on high. I don't mind the noise, it's definitely not silent or even that quiet, but it's a very calm white noise. I'd take that noise 24/7 over 10% humidity any day of the year.Make sure you rinse the heating element off every couple of uses to prevent mineral buildup, and it'll last you years. Mine (bought in 2014) has some moderate buildup that I acquired during the first year of use that hasn't affected the performance in any way. The buildup was because this was my first humidifier and I had no idea you needed to clean them. Just do a quick rinse in your sink and you'll have a humidifier that'll last you years. My house feels so much warmer, and my skin and hair very much appreciate the humidity. I also love the vick's VapoPads that you can put into the bottom of the machine, though they can get expensive. Try to catch them on amazon when they're a nice >$4 addon price and stock up then.

They work well and I am generally happy with it (as evident by my repeated purchases)
This is the 4th Vicks WarmMist humidifier I have purchased. They work well and I am generally happy with it (as evident by my repeated purchases). This newer model has a larger tank opening for more efficient filling that I do appreciate (less air trapped = more water for humidifying). We live in an apartment that gets very dry in the winter and combined with indoor allergies leaves me with sinus pain, so the humidifier gets used nearly every night in the winter and I typically get 1-3 years of use per machine. At this price point I do not mind needing to replace it every few years. Each time I have encountered a different problem, my first humidifier shorted out, the second had the tank dropped/cracked (my fault not the humidifier's) and the third developed a leak somewhere in the base. There is some maintenance that should be done to keep the build up and corrosion on the heating unit under control, however I have never been able to fully prevent build up from happening even with following the cleaning directions.

Love the unit ....but have an issue need help with...
I adore this unit but I have two problems with it... one is the build up on the heating unit of 'crud' and I can't seem to get it off and now my water tank has a small crack (not leaking yet) on it and I have been very careful, have not dropped or anything so don't know why the tank might have a hairline crack in it.. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.. I use mine day and night so it is rarely ever off... the only thing I can think of is if it had not cooled down enough before I refilled it with water and that caused the crack. I have read that the old units had the 'crud' problem but not the upgraded version but I think I have the updated version... has anyone else had these problems. I want to order another one but not until I get some feedback or can figure out how to solve my two problems... the is the 3rd humidifier/vaporizer I have bought from Amazon - one cold air and two warm air and all three are still going strong... does anyone have any ideas of input in my problem...
