He's a big boy... good color, almost could say it's wood... not sure, to be honest.

LOVE BUDDHA! My mom always had a large Fat Buddha sitting on the floor of her dining room, she always told the grandkids to rub and kiss his fat belly for good luck! He was made of some sort of ceramic or porcelain, and eventually broke... I've always had fond memories of him. My tv room has an Asian theme, and I am so glad I found this Buddha! He is the perfect size, and he sits on the floor, just perfect for my great niece to rub and kiss his fat belly for good luck! He is a beautiful bronze color with lots of sparklies, and, since he's made of a heavy resin, he won't be breaking!

Very nice statue which came very well protected and packaged. If you enjoy Asian-style whimsical art, you will like this piece. The happy face is so pleasant to look at every day.

Bottom line up front: It's not bad looking, but the color is slightly different from the photo, it's very light weight, and nobody's going to be fooled into thinking it's real wood.First of all, although this representation is commonly referred to as the "laughing Buddha," it's actually not a representation of The Buddha. It's a depiction of Budai (Hotei in Japanese), a mythical Buddhist monk who appears as a representation of contentment. His name means "Cloth Sack," which comes from the bag he's conventionally depicted carrying (or in the case of this statue, sitting on).APPEARANCE: The photo coloration is somewhat inaccurate, in that the statue is more of a milk chocolate brown than the golden brown shown. The photo is otherwise accurate in terms of the faux "wood grain" pattern and gold painted highlights. It's not bad looking, but not as good as the photo. It probably would look best sitting on its own, because if anything with real wood is nearby, it's painfully obvious that this isn't made of real wood.MATERIALS: The statue is made of plastic/resin and is very light in weight. It's definitely for indoor-only display. The casting seems to be of decent quality (no seam lines), but isn't particularly impressive compared to the detail in some resin casts you can get.Overall, I thought it was decent enough when I bought it, but within 6 months I was looking for something a little higher quality.

We love this guy! He's so well constructed and seems indestructible. He's three-feet tall, perfect for our small Zen garden. Whenever we look at him, he brings joy and inspiration. The fact that he's laughing reminds us we all need to do more of that every day. Other statues we looked at were too small or holding things in their hands, whereas this guy is ready for everything. We're lighting our new Buddha friend all night with a subtle solar spotlight and have received many great comments from friends.

I got it for a family member and they really loved it at first. The only problem was that after they got over loving the product their pets acted out and they suddenly became convinced the product was possessed by a demon and they returned it to me. The product is an awesome decoration though and I think it worked out for the best!

This product was damaged… one hand if the Laughing Buddha was broken. What kind of shipment is that??

I was hesitant in purchasing this because I thought it should be more of a gift for someone rather than yourself. I'm definitely glad I DID get it and he's perfect for my office. Exactly as described.
