Wow, this is one amazing piece of equipment!
Let's get this straight right away, this tripod IS NOT 1.9 pounds. I would like to think this is an honest mistake, however I've found weird youtube videos advertising this product, and those also state it's 1.9 pounds. My only guess is that is the weight without the ball & head. However if that's the case, I feel it's very misleading advertising. This company does have a carbon fiber version for a lot more money that is less than 2 pounds. I for one was not looking for such an expensive tripod. Thus when I saw this advertised for 1.9 pounds, I figured it included the ball head. Not so, just so you are clear. I actually weighed it in at 2.3, and 2.4 with the "case".That's another thing, the case. I wouldn't so much consider it a case, but more of a carrying pouch. But with that in mind, I like this feature because it will be easy to carry around on your back, and let's be frank, you are only looking at this tripod for it's ease of travel.Ok let's get down to the crux of it. I personally purchased this for one reason: Backpacking! I love going out to the wilderness with my nice DSLR and prime lenses, some filters, and capturing natures beauty. I've used a Gorilla SLR-ZOOM tripod, and it was okay. However for long exposures, and any type of windy conditions, that wasn't ideal. Plus, you are limited to a ground level view. Thus I wanted a tripod that wouldn't break the bank, but would be of high quality. And this my friends is why I have it at 5 stars. Maybe in the future when i'm older i'll invest in a carbon fiber to save a few ounces, but let me tell you: THIS BAD BOY OF A TRIPOD IS SOLID!!!I have been a semiprofessional photographer for 7 years, and have owned a really nice professional tripod, and have tried several other high-end ones (think Gitzo, Manfroto, Giottos). I honestly think this tripod is as good if not better then these companies lower to middle end tripods. Yes if you buys a $600 Gitzo you'll see a difference. But to be honest, i've personally tried multiple Manfrotos that feel cheaper than this Sirui T-005X 54.5" Aluminum Alloy Tripod with C-10X Ball Head. Here is why i'm so impressed:-The build seems absolutely stunning. It almost seems like an Apple product! The aluminum seems of very high quality, like something Easton produced. It has a beautiful anodized finish, and I can't find any manufacturing blemishes.-It is absolutely compact. I am shocked at not only how small it gets, but the thought and R&D that went into it's development. The mechanism which allows it to be compact is flawless so far.-The ball&head is amazing! I've had tripods twice as much when you have a big DSLR and lens, then tighten down the head, the camera changes positions, even slightly. Not with this bad boy. So far it is ultra stable. There might be a slight bit of movement when in 90 degree mode.-The knobs feel very solid as well. They are easy to turn and tighten. It doesn't take much force to tighten the ball in head in place.-Lastly about the ball and head, the three knobs make it extremely easy to quickly and efficiently position your camera. Now some things to keep in mind:1) When FULLY extended it is a tiny amount unstable, in terms of wind could cause movement in an image. I don't believe it would "tip" over unstable. However there is a hook at the bottom of the up-tube and they include a biner to attach some sort of weight, which would alleviate this issue.2) One thing that could be improved is the knob that allows you to rotate the headset in a horizontal plane. When the camera is mounted, it is a little difficult because you can't completely grab the knob. However you can get enough grip on it to easily manipulate it. If you had very large fingers/hands, it might be cumbersome.Overall I am extremely satisfied with this product. I am going on a backpacking trip tomorrow, so i'll report on it's performance in the field! So excited!

Beware of unauthorized dealers when warranty work is required.
This was the perfect size and weight tripod for bicycle touring. I loved it for the first year. Unfortunately, the material in the extension tube failed and I now have a very short tripod that is difficult to use. I am currently told that Sirui does not stock replacement parts, but offers a six year warranty when purchased from an authorized dealer. I would double check that fact before you purchase. I am currently in limbo as to whether I can get this taken care of.

Nice and Light
This is a nice, light tripod. I've had it for a few weeks, and I've taken it out a few times now. I wish it were a little taller, and I really wish it had a level (I've been using one that I got at a hardware store for $2 until I can upgrade that.) But for the price, it's really good. Things get heavier the longer you walk, and having a tripod so light makes it easier to carry. If I worked in a studio, I'd definitely want something heavier/sturdier, and taller, but for walking in the woods, this is nice.

This is a nice little tripod!
Love that it's so compact and that you can use it as a mono-pod, change the leg config to make a nice video stabilizer, and eliminate the top pole for even lighter weight. Holds a Nikon D5300 with Nikon 18-200mm zoom just fine. Compact enough to fit in the medium motorcycle trunk I have or in my average daypack. Good purchase and recommended.

Very happy with this product
Very happy with this product. It folds up nice and compact. I could see some people being turned of by the fact that the center mast doesn't slide down between the legs but I've not found this to be much of an issue. It takes a few extra minutes to change it around but the tripod is much more stable than the ones I've used where the center mast slides.

Great Product with one Flaw
I bought this tripod on a whim after watching a video review on youtube. The tripod if great for camera/lens only setups. The only big problem I find is that it won't bring the camera up to eye level. You can rig it up using all of the legs half extended for it to act as a shoulder rig and it's half decent. It can also serve as a high hat if need be. You can get a pretty smooth pan out of it for video which is also great. Of course, you would need to follow up with some DIY filmmaker videos and whatnot but it's potential can be maximized with little effort to deliver a solid result in your video.I would say this is a great buy for the micro budget filmmaker. If you're looking at this for a photography tripod then it does it's job. Boom. Done.

Good product but disappointing condition
The product is very functional but the legs have scratches as if it has been used many times. I do not have time to send it back for replacement as i am leaving on a trip immediately, would have returned it if I would not have needed a tripod for my trip. Amazon should definately look into this & find a way to compensate.

Veramente portatile

Poids 1kg
