Uncaria rhynchophylla is an evergreen tree-like liana characterized by plagiotropic growth (i.e. growing parallel to the substrate). The length of an adult plant ranges from 2.5 to 6 meters, the thickness of the trunk is 1-2 cm. It climbs the trees with the help of special hooks (reduced and modified branches).
