The latest version of the ampipant does not have the built in briefs which I loved. The fit is much better though - not as much of a balloon pant. But I could have easily gone a size smaller compared to the same size Amphipant in the origianal style. Waist was way big and length as well. I had to get them tailored. I don't really like the metal eyelet on the cargo pocket nor the fabrick loop on the other cargo pocket. Seems like needless decoration as I can find no use for either.

Love these pants
Love these pants! This is my 2nd pair, had my first pair for about a year. The full $80 list price is a little hard to stomach, but I buy them when they go on sale. Worth the full price though. Look better than most of the lightweight nylon or polyester technical pants I've owned. Very fast drying and comfortable. Own 2 of the 3 available colors, will probably buy the 3rd, even if I have to pay full price. I'm 6', 250 lbs, and usually wear size 40 waist pants. Bought these in size 40 waist, and they fit as expected. Highly recommend!

Absolutely LOVE these and live in them.
Absolutely LOVE these and live in them. I found these at REI in 2006 and now only buy and wear these pants everyday. Even in the winter below freezing - 0 and I just put on silk or wool liners if need more warmth underneath. These made me leave my jeans behind forever. I wear the old 2006 pairs until they actually began to de-materialize as work clothes. Cannot get a better value that is light and allows a lot of movement.

FAN-*****-TASTIC
These pants are great. Lightweight, nice cargo pockets, deep hand pockets. I took two pairs of pants on a two month trip and wish they'd both been these. Integrated belt is nice, but little plastic bits can be annoying if you wear a "nice" belt over it, especially the excess-belt-length-holder on the left side, the pressure can really build up and be bothersome. Keep in mind these are extremely lightweight *OUTERWEAR* ... plan to augment them with compression pants or thermals underneath if you'll be wearing them in any kind of cold weather.

Great pair of lightweight travel pants
These pants fit great. Wore these pants on a recent trip and loved them. Front pockets are deep enough, and the velcro close side cargo pockets and zippered rear pockets were helpful for securing metro tickets, museum passes, etc. Easy to wash and dry in your hotel room. does come with a lightweight belt that I used, but may remove for next trip.

Outstanding casual pants.
By far the best pair of casual pants I've ever owned. I didn't think I'd find pants that were more comfortable and better fitting than Kuhls, but these are superior. Length is great and run around 34". I wear between a 36-38 waist and the size 38 fit a tad big, but no issue at all. I'm excited to try the other styles.

Wanted loose fit, not slim fit
This update of the previous version called "nio amphi" pants is no longer loose fitting. While the waist still fits in my size, the seat and legs are cut much tighter. While this new version is dressier looking because it is slim cut compared to the old loose fit, it is no longer as suitable for outdoor activities in a humid climate. I loved the old version which which I have been wearing for several years and am sad that Ex Officio has changed these pants. However, Amazon made the free return extremely easy as I was able to request the return online, print a UPS return label off my printer and drop it off at a nearby UPS location.

Comfortable. Easy to maintain
Comfortable. Easy to maintain. Good security features. We just returned from a three-week vacation in Europe, and, except for more formal circumstances, I could have gotten by with only a pair or two of these trousers.
