Canon EOS Rebel XS/1000D Digital Field Guide Paperback – December 3, 2008

I was extremely happy to be able to buy this field guide for my camera; it's pretty old, and I was surprised to find a field guide for it. I've learned so much about my camera using this, and I'm very happy with it.

This guide is remarkably clear and informative without being arcane. I find it tremendously useful in orienting me to my first serious digital camera. I am experienced with film photography but need familiarization with the vast vocabulary of digital photography. I was very pleased that this guide uses abbreviations minimally. It is not exhaustive on the subject and doesn't pretend to be. Exploiting my "new" camera is a challenge. This volume is helping me to overcome it. I expect to read other guides to clarify obscure points.

Great book for a new photographer or a seasoned photography. Lots of the ins and outs of the XS. Great camera tips for getting that perfect picture. Not quiet as "layman" and "here's what you do" as the Scott Kelby books, but a great book for the XS.

The first thing I do when I get a new camera is order the Digital Field Guide for it. Got a great deal on a 2nd hand Rebel XS for a relative and waited to give it to her until the DFG came in. Great books!

I read through this book to become more familiar with my camera. It does the job for sure. It provides pictures and well organized chapters. I refer to this book often.

This book has been very helpful and easy to understand......straight forward. I'm glad I purchased this book, I'm understianding all the functions of my camera instead of just point and shoot
