Inexpensive, lightweight, secure phone mount. A good alternative to a handlebar mount.
I've been using this mount for about 3 months now. The reason I chose this mount over another one was because my handlebars are oversized in the center where they attach to the stem, but standard sized everywhere the bar tape goes. This means there's a ~2 inch section on either side of the stem that's conically shaped, and that makes it all but impossible to mount anything there. I moved my headlight to a fork crown mount, but later I decided I wanted to mount my phone on my handlebars. This mount, because it actually attaches to to the headset (replaces the headset cap), works well for me.To install the mount, remove your headset cap and replace it with the included cap. Attach the phone mount to the new cap at whatever angle you like. Done.To insert your phone into the mount, you put the top of the phone in first, then push it up against the elastic bands until you can fit the bottom of the phone in. It seems to be a pretty solid design, but I do worry about the elastic bands wearing out eventually.I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 in a small case. It fits well in this mount, but I'd worry about any phone that's much bigger. When the S3 is in this mount, I can access all the ports and controls (entire screen, home button, volume/lock buttons, charging and headphone ports) except for the back and menu buttons below the screen. The mount does shade the ambient light sensor above the screen, so if you want any chance at reading the screen in full sunlight, turn off auto screen brightness and crank it all the way up manually. The phone seems to be held in place very well. The mount does flex some, which seems to be by design. The packaging does say "not for off road use," so I usually remove my phone from the mount when I go over very rough roads or off road. My phone has only fallen out once. That was as I was going over a highway rumble strip at around 15mph. (road bike, 32mm tires) To be fair, I'm not sure I had put the phone back in the mount correctly. This mount has been extremely helpful in navigating unfamiliar areas with google maps. I can see on-screen directions, and I can hear spoken directions unless I'm doing over 25-30mph.Summary: Inexpensive, lightweight, secure phone mount. A good alternative to a handlebar mount.UPDATE May 2015: The Smartphone Caddy is still running just fine. I've been using it for several hours each week on commutes and it's been great. However, I just got a Motorola Droid Turbo, which is larger than my Galaxy S3 even with no case. The Turbo fits in this "regular" size mount just barely, but if I'm not careful it'll open the mount past its limits and I'll have to re-insert the plastic sliders. Now I'm considering buying the larger version of the same mount.

Great phone mount
Great phone mount. I love the extra security feature in case the bungy fails. I took a hard fall last week and the case kept my smartphone secure. My bike and case have some battle scars but both are holding up great. It comes with a waterproof bag if you need. And yes the touch screen works through the bag. Overall I would recommend this to anyone.Update: Bike Caddy is still fantastic! I recently upgraded my phone to a Samsung S5. The S5 fits in the caddy without a case on the phone. The width is snug and leaves no room to have a case on it. The other problem is the length -the caddy has to be opened as wide as it can go to get the S5 in it. That makes it awkward and difficult installing and removing the phone from the case.I thought purchasing the larger caddy 7.8x3.5x.5 would be the answer but.... There's more than enough room for the width -a little too much but that's OK. The length is good. The problem is the height. This caddy has a lower profile so the S5 doesn't fit in the Caddy with a case on the phone. If you take the case off the S5, the phone fits but the phone wants to push through the slots on the top and bottom of the case. These caddies are great products, I'm just disappointed it didn't work out. I think if the case was the same height as the smaller one and 3.25" wide it would be a better fit.Update: 9/15/2016 I ordered the Delta HL6002 Smartphone Caddy 2.9"x.625"x5.5" for another bike and I received the Delta Bike Computer Caddy instead. I submitted a return/replace item request with the comment about why the wrong item was sent. Those comments were ignored and I was sent the same Delta Bike Computer Caddy as the replacement. The problem is the warehouse put the sticker label for the Delta HL6002 Smartphone Caddy on the Delta Bike Computer Caddy. The Delta Bike Computer Caddy item number is HL5000 not HL6002.

I think this product is great. I got the "Android" version because the iPhone ...
Recently got an Otter Box case for my iPhone and needed to find a new holder for my bicycle. For the most part, I think this product is great. I got the "Android" version because the iPhone version would not be large enough with the Otter case. First, the fit is not perfect. The Otter case is still just slightly too big for the phone to fit perfect. However, it IS big enough to hold my phone securely. In fact, very securely. Before mounting it on my bike, I put the phone in, turned the holder upside down and tried my best to shake it out of the holder. No doing... it was staying put. Also, extremely easy to get the phone in and out. Much quicker than the holder I have been using which is designed specifically for the iPhone with no case around it. I also feel like the phone is much better protected now when I ride. Big plus.My only minor complaint is that the stem cap installment was not perfect for my bike (I have a mid-priced endurance road bike). Not sure what type of bike they expected this to be installed on, but their included screw was not right for my Fuji. I was able to use the screw from my previous holder, but it was slightly too wide for the new mount, so it took some effort to get the screw through it and mounted to my bike.I think this product would become very popular very quickly if they provided just a couple more size options. The height and width were both fine for the Otter box, by the way. It is the depth that does not fit perfect.Overall, I think it's a great product for a very reasonable price. As always, Amazon has done an amazing job with customer service (price and shipping). I've placed hundreds of orders with Amazon now for dozens and dozens of different products and not one time have they gotten my order wrong or had a major delay in shipping.
