Let's squint at Arabic
Let's Talk Arabic Think twice before buying the Kindle edition. You're better off buying the paperback. As other reviewers have pointed out, the Arabic script is hard to read in the Kindle edition. You'll find yourself squinting and giving up. I'm not sure what went wrong, but maybe the publishers didn't have software that can handle Arabic script alongside the Roman alphabet. So instead they scanned the Arabic parts and pasted them in. The result is a series of grey blobs with barely any contrast. I have an early Kindle device and it's impossible to read. You may get a better result with Kindle Fire, but it's your risk. The book itself is highly recommended. I bought this because I want to work in the Middle East. Apparently no other book can compare for authority and ease of use. I just wish that the publishers would do a revised edition for Kindle.

Only good if you already understand the basics of Arabic grammar ...
Only good if you already understand the basics of Arabic grammar and language, which thankfully I did. Might not be the best for a beginner.

Very good!
This book supplements my Rosetta Stone course. I need to learn grammar and sentence structure while learning a new language. I bought both the paperback and the ebook so I can have access to both at any time. I had wondered how the author could call the book "Let's Talk..." when there was no audio associated with it. Now there is web content you can register and view when the buy the book/ebook.[...] is the website for videos and worksheets to complement the book and ebook. Some videos are kiddish but cute, makes learning more fun.

Well worth it!
Love the book - there is a download to hear correct pronunciations. I had some concerns which the author clarified. If you want to learn Arabic in your spare time, I have to recommend this book

Speaking of diplomacy
This is a wonderful book to accompany the other Arabic language materials I am studying. It fills the gaps in the other coursework.

Brilliant ,especially for complete novices. ; grammar explained well, not too complex. Makes learning the language achievable.
excellent book for complete novices like myself. If there is one criticism & I know other novices to the Arabic language have this problem, it is the font size of the Arabic writing. Other than that, the book has proved invaluable in helping me to understand the basics with just enough detail to enable the student to understand the grammar aspects without becoming too complex. The book has given me the confidence to try out my Arabic speech on the locals - for me, the writing aspect of the language will take a little longer, but at least when I go out now I look for words I can recognise.Well written book and extremely good value for money.

Not fit for purpose
I was very excited to receive this book and began straight away with my pen and paper. However, when I reached the Arabic script examples I found I kept making mistakes. It was not until I cross checked with other books that I found this one was packed with typographical errors. They appear on every page. I am sure the errors did not appear in the author's original copy, or at least I hope not, but whoever read through this book prior to publication could not have understood Arabic. I would avoid this edition like the plague.

Not suitable for Kindle
Books where some of the text (in this case the Arabic text) is a graphic rather than a font are a pain on a Kindle device. I can make the English font big enough to read but not the Arabic. If I make the whole thing bigger to read the Arabic, the English font is ridiculously big. Very annoying and makes the book practically pointless for me.

A headache to read!
The problem lies not in the book itself, which is a reasonable beginner's guide, but in the Kindle presentation. The Arabic script and its transliterations, are minuscule ,hard to read even with a magnifying glass .Arabic script is hard to read at the best of times but impossible if the various dots and squiggles are missing or too small to decipher.Font size can be increased but this only works for the accompanying English text and not for the Arabic sections.Amazon ought to look into this technical issue.

An excellent introduction into the language.
This Book is a good, clear introduction into the Arabic language in a concise format that is easy to understand. The author has done well in communicating the basics of grammar and syntax for the complete beginner. Money well spent from my perspective.
